The poverty is a poverty of character and morality rather than one of income as evidenced in many of the rich white kids I grew up with who did VERY scandalous things and never had to pay the price they should of because daddy got them out of the major messes they got themselves into.

If you worked in my school, I would remove you for conveying a lack of proper education. There are fine english words that concisely convey emotion and clarity! You set a poor example when you sink to that level.
I can stand up to most folk, without backing down. I carry a weapon for extra reassurance. I don't display it. But, I can get to it and use it properly in most every situation! Sometimes it's better to use a squirt gun, when you want to use a .357!
I can bitch about anything. This is America, and FReepers are a diverse group. Some are assholes, and some are plugs...

Well,looking back it was probably wrong to "go ghetto"on them.As an adult,I should not have been so emotionally charged.
Yet these two charcters never gave me the slightest bit of trouble anytime I came out to that school.They passed along the word to some of the other boyz in the hood that Mr.Riverman was "the wrong nigga to f--- with".

The funny thing is, the black kids probably wanted to sit at the back of the bus. . .as did the white kids. You can get away with more stuff back there.

I can't say I have always been able to maintain my facade. I spent a while as a Scoutmaster in the 70's. I had a lamebrained asst that built a giant bonfire, doused it with GASOLINE and nearly blew up the camp. I had gone to town for supplies and he was going to "surprise" me on my return. We were in the middle of a two acre clearing, and he lit up the night!!! The concussion was frightening. I lit up his ass, when I found everyone safe, and used some choice words learned in my Navy days (Nobody cusses better than a sailor) in front of the troop! I apologized, but the cows were out the door...
I will posit another scenario:
Nine children, from two households get onto the bus at one stop. They are friends, neighbors, and siblings, both blood, and welfare. Their stop is first on the line. The driver tells them to load from the back, and leave the front eats for the little ones. The little ones don't want to be separated, and cling to the only "family" they know. They are the only black kids on that route.
Friendly NAACP or or some other greedy lawyer says, "don't you KNOW what this LOOOOOOOOOOKS like? We can make some good money on this one!"
Well,you expressed your anger in such a way that I'm sure it made an impression on all concerned.
Sometimes people need a royal foot in the old behind to wake them up to reality.
Your example is a good reason why I am so cynical about civil rights groups today-NAACP,etc.They are just business ventures run by boojie hustlers and scammers.
I am old enough to remember the OLD civil rights movement.Was WITH blacks as they put their lives on the line.No Jesse Jackson"I'll march for a 10,000 dollar fee"nonsense.
It was real back then.Now its all a joke.And black folks know it as well as everyone else.
My mother and father were white people. Yhey had sexual relations, and my fathers seed impregnated my mom. I was born in a hospital, mostly serving the white community in Wilmington, NC. My dad was in the navy, so in 12 years, I attended 13 schools.
I have learned much about people, while I learned Chaucer and Latin, biology and history. I learned of a countryrenched away from the poor "Indians" and settled by iron will. I live in WV these days, and here there is still an "independent" spirit. There is a love for privacy and "leave me the hell alone" attitude. Pickup trucks are a status symbol driven by black and white!
I learned about leaches, while I worked in the furniture business. I saw a perpetuated welfare community, four generations deep within gum't "projects" which is a euphemism for warehousing. The gum't gave them money for their kids. they got checks for the purchase of furniture, and diapers. they got food stamps for their several householdds, and barterd for booze and drugs. It hasn't changed much...
That's the real "joke". EVERYBODY knows, but continues to sweep it under the rug, and nothing much changes. One thing you can count on... It's all about the money!
You all should have moved out to Fauquier.
