The president spoke with UN SG Kofi Annan about the international force being assembled for Lebanon; the Iranian regime's statement on its nuclear program; and the need to improve the situation in Darfur. He attended a fundraiser for Senator George Allen, R-VA.
President Bush met with Rockey Vaccarella, Louisiana victim of Hurricane Katrina, to discuss rebuilding efforts there.
Does anyone have a good nomination yet? I'm interested in Mitt Romney.
Mincers (grinders) were great my mum had one that fixed on the side of the kitchen table and she used to put the meat left over from the Sunday joint through it and use that to make shepherd's pie.
In fact they have made a bit of a come back in the UK and our top kitchen supply company Lakeland sells them.

A favorite of mine is ham and cheese cubes combined with frozen peas that are thawed, noodles, and TA DA mayo.
I was fortunate because my parents were in catering going to restaurants happened a lot.
I can remember as a fairly young child eating a curry at the local "in place" in Deal.
I may try that tomorrow but I only have a garlic tortilla in the fridge don't think it will work with that :0)
Good point. But I can't really buy anything else right now. It cost more than I thought it would to get all my clothes.
WELCOME!
I have never tried artichoke hearts my mum used to grow the other type I think they are called Jerusalem artichokes they look similar to potatoes but are quite soft.
They are lovely boiled till just soft and served with butter and pepper.
You can still buy them in Britain
Actually, I'm just poppin' in real quick--to say hi to a few FRiends who also post here...
I normally catch them on the weekend threads, but I had foot surgery last Friday and finally just got up and running.
So, I'm probably not going to be a regular here--although I will state here that Bush is one of the few politicians that inspired me to change my old major and take up PoliSci...8^)
Yes, exactly! My grinder fits on the side of a table (or the pull-out cutting board) too.
You can't get the same effect from any other appliance, I don't think. Mine has 3 different sized grates.
Give it a reprieve I wish I had my mum's but that got thrown out in a move a few years back the new ones do not look as sturdy though I am certain that Lakeland did a retro a couple of years ago so I could probably pick one on on ebay.
Indeed we are
Yeah, you might not want to do that :*D
I usually only buy ham in the sliced form and of course tinned luncheon meat if I do meat sandwiches I usually use left over meat from the Sunday roast.
Yes I am old fashioned and still have a traditional British Sunday roast each week. I find it most economical, cold on Monday with either hot veg or salad stuff and then on Tuesday if enough left over similar or not make what is left over into stir fry or something else.
Capers?

Yes, I noticed that. I'll look into it.
That seems to be another American saying "brown bags" where we say lunch box or sandwich box which can be anyting from a clear plastic bag to a plastic Tupperware type box. We do not really use brown bags though I believe some take-away shops do put the food in them.
That's what I was thinking but I was afraid of being wrong :)
