OK AMERICA... Let's get with it and follow our British Brothers example. Does anyone know what became of the mom who gave her previously detained cell phone, cash carrying son flight manifests??? After 9/11, Southwest Air in California had "employees" who looked like SWAT Hunks checking people in... I noticed a "perspiring, agitated Arab male, complaining, looking around like crazy, and I told this "hunk" employee that I was concerned with his behavior. He said, "don't worry, we've been watching him and he is NOT getting on this plane." He was behind me, they pulled him aside, put him behind a screen and stripped him. He never did get on the plane. Made me breathe easier... Politically incorrect? Maybe. But what other choices do we have. Better to err on the side of caution.

It seems to me that we all began to learn "profiling" from birth. It is a survival trait to be able to recognise your parents and safe friends. It goes on from there. We teach our children to avoid locations, situations and people that look dangerous, and to report them. We chose to be aware of our surroundings and pick our walking routes and shopping venues with safety in mind. Now, the government tells us to go counter to all this natural survival training and completely shut off this basic instinctual behavior.

I think not! Bravo for these passengers! Let's promote this kind of common sense response.
