ping!
Why would any cosmetics company use someone as ugly as Sandra Bernhard to advertise their product?
A classy spokeswoman for a classy company...(eyeroll)
COOL! Being a thin-lipped Republican bitch, I was one of those who complained!
Finally! We're pushing the Gay "rights" movement back!
I missed the original post on this. Does someone have an address where I can write a letter of complaint? It would be nice if they got thousands of complaints and would fire her. I can hardly stand looking at that woman. She is very ugly especially her lips.
They are not censoring for indecent content, thus the barnyard reference remains. The purpose of the campaign is to be "edgy" and somewhat "dangerous". What they are doing is eliminating something that insults a fair portion of their customers directly. Frankly, this is a good business decision.
Nobody likes to be called a right-wing Republican thin-lipped bitch. I would imagine that would make something like that would make 30% of the women in this country less likely to favor their products. Nobody wants to kiss off 30% of the market.
It's best not to insult 50% of your customer base.....
the don't seem to understand that republican women a) have money and b) wear makeup. liberal women b) don't have money and b) don't even shave where they should, let alone wear makeup.
Sandra Bernhard is quite obviously a foul mouthed hag who's face lifts could not quite hide her uglyness but with lots of makeup she can tone it down.
The pic in post 25 says it all....she wants you bad! I can see it in her eyes!
(There, got you back, now we're even! :P)
How could they do that? Don't they know she was the lead in that mega hit "Hudson Hawk".*
*Hudson Hawk makes Alexander look like a monumental success.
Lots of wild colors, lots of super heavy foundations (to cover five o'clock shadows for the Dragsters), and just too glam and trash for me.
I still wrote them a very polite letter asking them, "as a long time user, and a Republican, how was I to interpret this?"
Ironically, I had been considering buying a few pieces, including some Plushgloss from them before the Sandra Bernhard statement. Will I now? No. That ad wasn't a mistake, and some higher up had to approved it. They only changed the ad to avoid any more backlash.
They don't need my money. My evil, right-wing money. "Eff them," as they say.
Thats not censorship, thats good business.
Bravo! I like MAC products. I don't like Sarah Barnhard.
