MAC Cosmetics has censored Sandra Bernhard (A win for us!)
The New York Post ^ | August 18, 2006

SNIP....

MINOR EDITING

MAC Cosmetics has censored Sandra Bernhard for bashing the GOP. The cosmetics giant, owned by Estée Lauder, got hundreds of complaints after it posted an online ad this week for its Plushglass lip gloss in which the balloon-lipped comic does some free-form ranting, including a riff about an "intimidated, frightened, right-wing Republican thin-lipped bitch." But Mac oddly didn't cut a line in which Bernhard cheekily discusses the bodily fluids of a horny barnyard bird.

Wow, she resembles a 'male actor' in this pic but I cannot think of his name.

I thought I read that L'Oreal has taken on Jane Fonda, for their age-reducing make-up line. I hope this isn't true.

If you have allergies ladies check the perfume you wear..

If you have allergies, don't wear it. Lots of people around you have allergies, too.

How could they do that? Don't they know she was the lead in that mega hit "Hudson Hawk".*

I've never worn MAC regularly, but I liked the handful of products that I did have--mostly lipsticks and face powders. I was in my mid-20s when the stuff became 'big' and even then I never used much because the product lines were a little too loud and club-oriented for my needs.

Lots of wild colors, lots of super heavy foundations (to cover five o'clock shadows for the Dragsters), and just too glam and trash for me.

I still wrote them a very polite letter asking them, "as a long time user, and a Republican, how was I to interpret this?"

Ironically, I had been considering buying a few pieces, including some Plushgloss from them before the Sandra Bernhard statement. Will I now? No. That ad wasn't a mistake, and some higher up had to approved it. They only changed the ad to avoid any more backlash.

They don't need my money. My evil, right-wing money. "Eff them," as they say.

From Polipundit. Enjoy! :>)!! :

Laws can be Enforced

Simple interior enforcement can help protect our borders:

A new law in the St. Louis suburb Valley Park has forced more than 20 families to leave the town, and the Archdiocese of St. Louis is helping them relocate.

An ordinance passed July 17 fines landlords $500 per violation for knowingly renting to illegal immigrants. Many of the families that have left were staying at Cheryl Lane Apartments. Some left so quickly they didn’t take their furniture, apartment owner James Zhang told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Zhang and his apartment manager went door-to-door last week, telling residents that if they weren’t in the country legally, they needed to move out. Of his 48 units, 20 are now empty, said Zhang, noting that the fine is more than the $450 he charges for monthly rent.

The city has not seen widespread problems with illegal immigration, but passed the law as a “preventive measure,” Mayor Jeffery Whitteaker has said.

Valley Park is one of a handful of cities across the country that have passed similar laws.

Whitteaker said he has received hundreds of calls and e-mails from across the nation, nearly all of them expressing support.

“It really gives you a warm feeling to know the whole country is behind you,” he said.

Caftans are good just to wear around home. I ordered a couple of 100% cotton ones on sale and also got some of those cheap sandals from Walmart that look a little like Birkenstock ones. They are the most comfortable ones for the summer and the right price for me. I have a hyperthermia problem and can't wear britches any more, so the caftans work the best and are easiest for around the house work. I dress to go out and am not a feminist. Don't let the fems cheat you out of caftans; they are so comfortable.
