Zogby Poll: Most Americans Can Name Three Stooges, But Not Three Branches of Gov't Tuesday, August 15, 2006 By Brit Hume
A recent poll found that nearly three-quarters of those asked could name each of the Three Stooges Larry, Curly and Moe but only 42 percent were able to name the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government.
That's according to a new Zogby poll in which 77 percent of Americans could name two of the seven dwarfs, while just 24 percent knew two of the nine Supreme Court justices.
And while 57 percent of Americans could name fictional boy wizard Harry Potter, less than half could name Great Britain's real prime minister, Tony Blair.

a new Zogby poll in which 77 percent of Americans could name two of the seven dwarfs, while just 24 percent knew two of the nine Supreme Court justices. The National Review suggests that "Dopey" and "Sleepy" are acceptable in either case.

Joe Besser (very short stint) Spinal Tap A to Zed

Besser, Joe "Mama": Taps largest member ever, Besser played drums during the bands one-date tour of Japan to support the 1982 album "Smell the Glove" before disappearing with the equipment. Besser made a brief appearance at the end of "This is Spinal Tap" during scenes from the Kobe Hall concert. David: "We assume he either returned to the world of jazz or he died." (GW)

Disgraceful. Who is the 25% who can't name at least 3 of the 6 stooges?

Actually, 545 stooges (NEVER caps for this lot): 535 venal and swinish 'legislators' (with an occasional exception), 9 black-robed tyrant wannabees (with an occasional exception), and 1 chief executive, the last one of which to obey the Constitution scrupulously being Mr. Coolidge.
