"So Israel wasn't killing terrorists and the deal Bush brokered didn't make them stop killing terrorists?"

You really can't focus on the BIG picture can you?

Israel was killing terrorists... the WORLD blamed Israel for everything... the msm used lies and distortions to further flame hate of the US and Israel... Bush held off the World body as long as possible... Bush used the UN to legitimize Israel and in the long run (when fighting starts again and it will) put the blame on evil islam where it belongs.

olmert is ruling just like john kerry would if he had been elected. He did not have the balls to fight the war Bush gave him time to fight, so brilliant diplomatic steps were taken to reverse the effect of the psy-war muzzies had so efficiently fought and won. It ain't over, and if you can't see that Bush is Israel's best friend in the world, and Americans are brothers to Israelis, you are Blind!

Are you even reading the posts?

I read many of your posts. My disdain for your posts is well-informed.

Their left wing base is not as powerful in the party as you might think

I just have to disagree here...the far left is where their money comes from, it's where their PR face is, it's what provides them with what little issue platform they have. Every major figure in the party is dancing left as fast as they can right now.

Time will tell, but I think the descendents of McGovern smell blood in the water. I think there's at least a reasonably "good" possibility that we'll get to test out our respective theories in the next fews years in real life (which doesn't often happen).

Hey! Thanks for posting the words. I still love that song. It's more than appropriate now. We really don't know what we've got til we've lost it. I wonder about our freedoms in this country since so many people are so apathetic about what we've got here.

I agree 100%. Not only do we need to do with Iran, the big bully on the block, we should slap Syria around until it cries uncle.

Sure. The Western way of life is in a fight for its survival against terrorists. Winning the war relies on lots and lots of dead terrorists.

Israel was killing terrorists. Now Israel is not killing terrorists. That IS the big picture.

Bush used the UN to legitimize Israel and in the long run (when fighting starts again and it will) put the blame on evil islam where it belongs.

Israel will NEVER be legitimized by the UN or the world. Bush already tried going to the UN to gain legitimization in the world community prior to the invasion of Iraq. That worked reeeeeaaaaallll well didn't it? Liberals in America and worldwide have a vested interest in the United States and its allies losing this war.

He did not have the balls to fight the war

If you think WE have the balls to fight the war, go talk to the guys in the brig at Camp Pendleton.

Bush is Israel's best friend in the world, and Americans are brothers to Israelis, you are Blind!

I DO see that. I have said in repeated posts on this thread that Israel is a friend and ally. That does not make Bush's actions here any less of a sell-out!

Time will tell, but I think the descendent's of McGovern smell blood in the water.

No question about it, but it is Bush that they rally together over, and this effect is temporary, or will end after the 08 elections. They will be forced to find another rally cry, and if we get hit again, which is pretty likely, they will be forced to withdraw into the crap hole they came out of.

Note that the bulk of the money comes from only a handful of people like Soros, and the CEO of Progressive Insurance, along with a tight but small list of benefactors. This has been the case for decades, and cannot compare to the broad based Republican support.

They are basically a paper tiger, but public opinion has been manipulated by the one power they do have, and that is the media and elite higher education advocates who play with our children's minds and hearts.

In a two party system, they will win a few by default, but will always lose any momentum gained when the public discovers their inherent incompetency regarding international affairs and projecting U.S. power. They are weenies in this regard and always govern by poll.

They have a gift coming in the next two election cycles, but it is not of their doing. It would have happened, no matter how much money they spent. The American electorate is fickle, and they vote for change on a regular basis.

Unfortunately for us, it comes at the worst possible time, but that is a built in failing of Democracy and not a indication that the Democrats have become powerful again.

IMHO

I am pretty certain we, the Republican Party, will lose some power for a short time, as the public goes through their gyrations over Iraq. They don't understand the big picture, and Bush cannot seem to overcome this.

Our party politicians are distancing themselves more and more each day, and this will result in severe losses at the polls this year and in 08.

With our flanks left open, the Dems will be able to get a foot hold and a willing public will vote for change.

It will be a mistake that will not be understood for a few years, but I expect we will get it all back by 2012.

It is hard to predict what will happen in the interim. Bush has been steady as a rock, as a leader, and the public does not understand just how important this leadership has been.

The democrats govern via public opinion, and will screw up. They will likely pull the trigger in some misguided international incident, and will take us into the abyss of a global conflict. This is the gist of my discussion with Nopardons, and why I predicted what I did.

Bush is playing chess with these idiots, and Democrats will will be playing sand lot marbles. There is a very good likelihood, that Iran will get the bomb while democrats flail about over some diversion that Iran initiates, just as they have done in Lebanon. If Bush cannot neuter Iran before his term is up, we will be on the road to my prediction, and some very difficult years ahead. This is why Iraq is so very important in the big picture, and why we invaded in the first place. We need to hold on to power, but I fear that with all the party defections, our goose is cooked already.

And that is not a good thing.

More fools speak up and reveal their incomprehension. Israel wants an effective UN force on their border. Bush and Rice and Blair were almost alone in not rushing into anything here allowing the Israelis to do what they wanted for weeks after the Chorus of the Clueless began to wail for "peace".

It is Israel which wanted a cease-fire NOT Bush. We only used our good offices to obtain what Israel wanted NOT the US. But to understand these things one must actually pay attention and analyze matters. Knee jerk reactions are not of much use.

Even the angels in Heaven do not know.

Like the maidens awaiting the bridegroom, we simply must keep our lamps lit and ready.

Sorry but it was not an "excellent point". But rather one indicating a lack of understanding of the situation on the ground.

Only the naive believe Hezbollah could have been totally destroyed. Do you really believe Hezbollah is the player here and not Syria and Iran? Do you really believe its leadership is not safe in Syria? Or that the main body of its fighters will not flee there when it becomes too hot in Lebanon?

There will be no resolution of this until those two countries are dealt with. And that will not be tomorrow or next week.

Fighting ordinary standing armies and air forces are one thing fighting terror groups entirely different. As we see in Iraq.

We must spread the Good News of Salvation as our most important commission from our Lord.

BGEA does evangelical work in the Middle East vineyards for the Lord.

We must work to convert our Muslim neighbors to life in Christ as the only true hope for lasting peace.

Believing Christians do not seek to kill either their unbelieving neighbors nor their believing brothers and sisters in Christ.

So, there is work to be done here in America, too, as too many see "mow them all down" as the answer. It is not the answer. He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword.

Whether they landed in Israel or not, they still violated the cease fire.

This is a test to see whether defensive action will be interpreted by Israel as defending her troops in South Lebanon.

I think the Israeli response will depend on whether any Israelis were hit.
