Pakistan: Suspected London Plane Terrorists Have Al Qaeda Connection

LONDON — Police arrested 40 people in cities throughout Italy in raids on Muslim gathering places in a security crackdown after Britain thwarted an alleged terror plot, the Interior Ministry said Friday, as Pakistani intelligence agents claimed there was an connection with ties to to the group of suspected terrorists arrested Thursday.

The arrests in Italy were made Rome, Milan, Venice, Florence, Naples and other cities on Thursday and Friday "as part of an extraordinary operation that followed the British anti-terrorist operation," the ministry said in a statement.

Does this mean it was more of a world-wide plot than the Britain to America flights?

Italy surely is a big symbolic target for the Islamist for a couple of reasons.
1. Despite some love-taps, Italy has generally been with the Coalition
even in Iraq.
2. Now that Spain has already fallen to Islam's reconquista (politically),
Italy is another chunk of territory that the Islamics think should be theirs.

By the way, after 9-11, on item that sealed my views on the radical Islamics
was the printing of some surveillance tapes the Italian police had
made of Al-Quida cells hiding out in Italy.

I think that sometimes they keep the level high because people are more vigilant and more likely to report suspicions. THAT is more likely to help catch the perps. I don't think that the authorities are confidant we're out of danger yet.

Police arrested 40 people in cities throughout Italy in raids on Muslim gathering places in a security crackdown after Britain thwarted an alleged terror plot, the Interior Ministry said tonight.

The arrests were made in Rome, Milan, Venice, Florence, Naples and other cities yesterday and today “as part of an extraordinary operation that followed the British anti-terrorist operation”. the ministry said.

Twenty-eight people were arrested for violating rules on residence permits and 12 were arrested for property crimes, its statement said.

The raids were made on “Islamic gathering places, including call centres, internet points and money transfer” offices, the ministry said.

This plot was disrupted once before in Dec. 2003 - Jan. 2004. Adam Gadahn (aka EOM) was making veiled references to this plot in a series of internet threats posted during November and Dec. 2003. The plot was put off in January when the U.S. stepped up security on overseas flights. Gadahn/also posted a hint about the 9/11 the night before the attack on the old MSNBC bbs.

Authorities have been following this operation for a much longer time that they are letting on. Now they decided to round everyone up. I hope they nail Gadahn in Pakistan as part of this roundup.

I hope I'm wrong but I wonder if the cell phones have anything to do with planes. 600 just that we know of. Someone mentioned finding Walmart maps but most kids start back to school around the 21st too. I think we need to watch other areas also. Yes, keeping a close eye on the planes but not let them give us tunnel vision. They know we are expecting plane attacks. They could use that against us.
