Pakistan: Suspected London Plane Terrorists Have Al Qaeda Connection
LONDON — Police arrested 40 people in cities throughout Italy in raids on Muslim gathering places in a security crackdown after Britain thwarted an alleged terror plot, the Interior Ministry said Friday, as Pakistani intelligence agents claimed there was an connection with ties to to the group of suspected terrorists arrested Thursday.
The arrests in Italy were made Rome, Milan, Venice, Florence, Naples and other cities on Thursday and Friday "as part of an extraordinary operation that followed the British anti-terrorist operation," the ministry said in a statement.

According to eyewitness testimony of 20 or so people, there was a streak in the sky (I remember seeing actual photos on TV) heading in the direction of the plane and then a huge explosion. I believe it was taken out by a SAM. Even Kerry referred to that flight as an act of terrorism when speaking to Larry king one night. The comments were posted here.

Tin foil hat firmly on head...I'm thinking it's a multi-prong plan. Drudge just reported a traffic stop where the perps had 1000 cell phones. Another report has police finding a check for $1 million in a car involved in a fatal traffic accident (NJ I think).
They could blow up a bunch of planes followed by IMDs triggered by cell phone across the US. Likely to be other stuff we haven't thought of yet. The terror campaign might be intended to distract us from responding when Iran makes a move on Israel on or around the 22nd. < /tinfoil >
I'd be scoping out two other countries this very moment and check for more moving parts of this terrorist cell. One is France and one is Spain. Both are coastal countries with lots of flights to the U.S. The uncaptured remainder of the British cell could easily have jumped in a car and gone through the Chunnel to France to hop on a French plane leaving for the U.S. Spain is now under a Socialist gov't and therefore not to be trusted. How well are they policing their airports? I hope our U.S. intelligence is checking out France and Spain bigtime.
