Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Matthew 16:16
When writing on the life of Simon Peter, songwriter and author Michael Card described the apostle as a fragile stone. It is a term filled with contrast, yet one that aptly describes Peter.
Throughout Peters life, we see this contrast lived out as he displayed moments of courage followed by spiritual failure. After his declaration of Christ as the Son of God, Jesus said to him, I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18). A rock. A stone. Peter, whose name means a small stone, proved to be fragile when he tried to dissuade Jesus from going to the cross, and when he denied Him three times after His arrest.
Peter, the fragile stone, reminds us that no amount of personal strength or talent can make us adequate for this life and its challenges. Only as we rest in the strength of Christ will we find His provision. When we acknowledge our frailty and dependence on Him, Christs strength can empower us for the troubles life throws our way.
Like Peter, we are all fragile stones. How grateful we can be for His strength that is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

Caprock Cafe, Spanky's, Chimy's and Sazon are on my short list.
The Reagan Library in Simi Valley. It is not a library anymore - it's a really great big museum - and I mean BIG. I brought a woman there from Brazil that is becoming a US citizen and she read everything there was to read! 5 hours of walking around. Reagan's Air Force 1 707, Marine 1 helicopter, his limosine is there and fully assembled and polished on display in a big new building with a glass wall that I have never seen before. Part of the Berlin Wall with graffiti on the West side and no graffiti and 2 bullet holes on the East side. A Tomohawk cruise missile.
It opens at 10AM daily. Get there early. The parking lot fills up fast. Its popular for couples on a date. There are about 6 video presentations of points in history.
I have directions from LAX to the destination. You hire an M-1 Abrams tank to get you up the 405 FWY to the 118W around Mission Hills. Rent a normal truck or car there. Go South on Madera Road and behave nice around the people there. After a few miles there will be signs telling you to turn right for the "library" and drive up a big hill overlooking a valley.
P.S. My Brazilian nurse love is far more conservative and smarter than an American women can hope to be. She lived with stupidity. Smart Brazillians are coming here. Welcome them in all career fields. The food is good!

My favorite hangout besides the Canteen or a decent beach, is home.
I hate to rush off this early, but I happen to be here before 300 posts and I need to try to check out some popular hangouts.
But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!
