The story sounds fine,but if the man had struck the kid he would have faced imprisonment fines and a heavy duty lawyers fee. He should know that and the kids DO know that.
The parents of this little turd would have come down on him like an avalanche and pressed charges till hell froze over.
However sometimes one does reach their limit when faced with a situation like this and retribution is swift.
The self-esteem movement (whether for young children or wayward international communities) will be the death of us. Personally, I think humiliation is a darn good thing once in a while.
The Greeks knew the dangers of hubris. Too many people today think the world revolves around them and their petty affairs. Such people deserve a smackdown.

While looking through old newspapers on microfilm I ran across this news story from 1897:
A man and his wife were walking their baby in a baby buggy in early spring. A couple of teenagers were throwing snowballs at passersby. One of the snowballs landed in the buggy, hitting the baby in the face.
The man grabbed the young toughs and beat them until bloody. The deputy arrived at the scene and refused to arrest the man. He said it was a lesson the boys needed to learn and they wouldn't be throwing snowballs at pedestrians ever again.
In the Cold War, the Great Communicator was great at poking fun at the Soviets. One of his favorites went something like this:
Two Russians were in an endless line waiting to get into the department store to buy the few items they were allowed to buy... Finally in frustration one says to his comrade, "I'm going to go over to the Kremlin and shoot that Gorbachev!" 12 hours later, he comes back and his friend asks, "Did you shoot him?" The guy replies "No, the line to shoot Gorbachev is as long as this one!"
That story not only got reported in the mainstream media, it also got circulated among Russians confined in the Gulag and the Poles in Solidarity -- it boosted morale and encouraged the revolutionaries.
Although the cartoon incident might make it seem that we can't poke fun at Islam, we sure ought to be pointing out what cowards these so-called terrorists are. They're happy to celebrate their martyrs, but the leaders don't seem to anxious to join the martyr brigade. The US has failed to use communication and the equivalent of Radio Free Europe to get our message to the suppressed masses in Iran and throughout the Middle East. Instead we allow Aljazera to frame the debate and the message being received in those regions. This is a real failure on the part of the W Administration... In My Humble Opinion!
I feel vindicated now. Last year a kid just like this was harassing the female lifeguards at our local beach. He was making life miserable for everyone out on the docks. So... I got up on the dock and sat down next to him and his girlfriend. I said, "hey, are you the homo that's been harassing people out here on the dock?" You should have seen the expression on his face.
He tried to talk back, but I steamrollered him with some more "colorful" references to his sexual preference. We went at it for about ten minutes before he finally skulked back to shore.
What else can you do?
My plan is a simple one step plan.
1. Off all the mullahs worldwide.
Boring suburban white boy - racist, dehumanizing stereotype. The casual injection of this phrase in a story like this is a good example of how deeply entrenched white-hating racism is. You can't separate the phrase from the media hatred that glorifies the sort of "gangsta" behavior that the author is complaining about.
Islamic fascists have no fear of death. In fact they die willingly in a mania of Islamic fervor. They live in the 7th century. Similar to the fanaticism of the Japanese soldier in WWII, you win ONLY by attrition. You kill as many Muslims as fast as you can before they kill you.
