Another photo by Reuters photographer Adnan Hajj has been shown to be doctored. The photo, which proports to be of an Israeli F-16 firing missiles on Lebanon has been doctored to make the photo seem more sensational. Here is the original Reuters photo along with its caption.

It has kept me busy all day... and yes Hajj got fired, but not because he faked the photo. It was because he did such a lousy job of faking.

This is starting to look like the tip of a major iceberg for Reuters and AP. They contracted with what appears to be unethical people at best and, at worst, Hezbollah propagandists. Apparently they provided no oversight of these contractors. They simply published their photos without so much as looking at them. Was it incompetence, willful disregard or intentional?
What happens now? Do they come clean and try to regain some credibility or do they circle the wagons and try to prevent the true magnitude and scope of their failures? The next few days will tell. One thing's for certain, the flood gates have been opened and every photo available will be scrutinized by thousands as never before.

What things have we missed in the past that have been faked. This goes deep if they were faking the news now they have been faking it for years. These pictures call into question everything these new agencies have ever said or done. I wish this could be gotten out to the public at large.

Could be, but it looks like the position of the sun is casting the tree shadows in the upper left portion in the same direction of the shadow on the dome and the building near it as well as the building on the left side of the dome in the bottom portion. The shadowy part of the cloud is consistent with the rest of the shadows in the picture as well.
Also, some of the buildings on top of the hill are projecting upwards into the smoke, would would indicate that the top half was not a cut and paste, but may be a legitimate picture. The pixilization of the top part of the landscape next to the smoke is consistent with the fading of sharpness and detail as it should be, compared with the sharper bottom part.
I think I'd give the photo a pass.

As conservatives, we should simply assume that ANYTHING we see or hear from the MSM is fraudulent.
I am with you. I am constantly reminded that a one world socialist government and the destruction of our Judeo-Christian culture are their motivations, not journalistic integrity or the reporting of the news.

Smoke trails would be at the whim of the wind and it's heat not smoke that a missile homes in on.

The msm is full of lying, left-wing, pro-terrorist weasels where ever you go.
This one featuring Canada's vile state-owned CBC takes a few minutes to follow but, once you get there, it's hard to believe it could have been caught much more red handed.

I found a picture, too, by Adnan Hajj of a man holding his dead child in Balbek and it appears to be the one of the same children that was taken from the building at Qana.
Unfortunately, I cannot share, as I have yet to be successful at posting a picture here. ;(

The third photo problem's probably an example of one of Hezbolah's paid actors. Note that there's two different photographers from two different agencies on two different days. Either she's R-E-A-L-L-Y unlucky, or you've found one of the people the Hezzies use to gin-up their PR effort.

Bush should demand a cease-fire from Reuters and AP. The shooting of propaganda must stop.

Reuters drops Lebanese photographer over doctored imageReuters on Sunday withdrew an image of smoke rising from burning buildings after an Israeli air strike on the suburbs of Beirut on August 5, 2006 after evidence emerged that it had been manipulated to show more smoke. The manipulated image is shown on the left. The unaltered image, shown on the right, has since run. Reuters has told the photographer, freelance Adnan Hajj, that the agency will not use any more of his pictures

"As conservatives, we should simply assume that ANYTHING we see or hear from the MSM is fraudulent." I do, and have for the last 20 years or so. I'm rarely let down. It doesn't even matter much what the subject is; our news is a sham. (except worldnetdaily.com most of the time, but they have had some bloopers too)
