The link to what?

I'm just saying it is wise not to give what you can't afford to and that the minutemen are the type of organization that could receive monies from the estates of people who have no heirs for big bucks.

That is a statement of possible sources of income and wisdom regarding giving, not an article. :-)

East Valley News - North
Fountain Hills man gives border gift
By Shanna Hogan, Tribune
June 16, 2006
A Fountain Hills resident took out a $120,000 loan on his house to help build one mile of fence along the southern U.S.-Mexico border.

Jim Campbell, a retired homebuilder and volunteer for the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, said he used the money to buy 10,000 feet of square pipe that will be used for the fence across the border from Naco, Mexico.

Amen, and I never get why so many Republicans act like they've been castrated in their job.

One would never guess that we control the House, the Senate and the Presidency. Out of power the dims have more power than the majority. Unbelievable the eunuchs we elected.

That was a large gift while he was alive.

Many upon their death leave large gifts as well.

A group like FR or the Minutemen with some good marketing could gather a fortune for their projects looking to be beneficiaries of some people's estates.

That was that man's choice, but why give some personal property owner the gift of the money needed to put a fence on lands not their own?

I can see this guy giving $5000, but what the guy did was too much IMO.
It's not like he was feeding destitute people here.

I should have addressed Registered. The statement came from Registered and I would like a link. Let him clarify it.

Some donors have even MORTGAGED their homes and sent hundreds of thousands of dollars into these groups (ie, MinutemanHQ) who act as if the only accountability standards they have to abide by are those found in the IRS guidebooks.

He left the link and there was an overly generous person.

I can see using the money for some poor kids, but why take a 100k+ loan off your house for some landowner in building their fence for them?

I can see 1000 donations helping this, but for one guy to donate that much is disturbing unless they are really rich.

As you sit on your big fat arse in front of your console doing what? Are you hoping the problem just goes away, or are you doing something about it like Chris Simcox?

The groundbreaking began in Arizona this Memorial Day weekend!!!

(snip)

Minutemen are donating time, equipment, land and funds knowing that they can successfully build a fence of over 2000 miles in length one foot at a time and doing the hard work to secure America today and into the future.

As the Minuteman Border Fence Project got underway, noted Minuteman, Patriot and U.S. Military Veteran, Jim Campbell of Arizona, has made the first six-figure contribution to this citizen initiative!!

(snip)

At present, six private landowners are partnering with the Minutemn CDC to commence construction of border fencing on their land. Surveillance cameras on the fencing will be monitored via computer by registered Minutemen across the country. We have chosen a security design that is based on the Israeli fences in Gaza and on the West Bank that have reduced terrorist attacks there by 95% or more. In order to be effective, a fence should not be easy to compromise by climbing over it with a ladder, cutting through it with wire cutters, ramming it with a vehicle, or tunneling under it undetected. No fence can be a 100% impenetrable barrier but, a good design will be time-consuming enough to breach that Border Patrol agents can be alerted and arrive at a point of attempted incursion before any illicit crossing can be completed.

Not exactly the 2.5 miles of cattle fence already produced on one property so far.

When donations are involved, there must be clarity on where and how those funds are spent.

Clarity??? Don't bring him into this!

Sorry, I couldn't resist...

Nice graphic.

Best post on the thread.

That's right. By now it should be obvious to all that there are only two kinds of people. You either want to send all your money, right now, to Chris Simcox and Alan Keyes... or you are in favor of illegals taking over the United States and making us all speak Spanish.

There is just no middle ground in this. Anyone who notices that there is no fence, just a bunch of talk about a fence in fundraising solicitations, is a UN lackey, a cad, and a bounder.

So there.

Are you hoping the problem just goes away

That is precisely what Chris Simcox was hoping.

or are you doing something about it like Chris Simcox?

Where is the fence that he SAID they had built?
