QANA, Lebanon - Israeli missiles hit several buildings in a southern Lebanon village as people slept Sunday, killing at least 56, most of them children, in the deadliest attack in 19 days of fighting. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert expressed "great sorrow" for the airstrikes but blamed Hezbollah guerrillas for using the area to launch rockets at Israel. Olmert told U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza that he needed 10 days to two weeks to finish offensive in Lebanon, according to a senior Israeli government official.

That's an easy one..Hezbullah probably TOLD the civilians to go to that building, they'd be safe, then came in with their rocket launcher..once the rocket goes off, Israel retaliates and kids get killed..
I read an article this morning, and I'm trying to find it, where a reporter said that area was totally left alone UNTIL Hezbullah fired their rocket..it's the grand scheme of the battle in the media..
So, that many fewer future terrorists. Good news.

IDF Says they have video showing that Hezbollah was firing rockets from that location. Not yet confirmed Fox cautioned.
The only way to achieve a lasting Mideast peace is for one side or the other to achieve a complete victory. I agree with you...Israel should finish off the terrorists now, once and for all.

You are exactly right. Israel has been attacked by hamas and hezbollah, at the behest of the focus of evil in the modern world, Iran. A ceasefire, is a victory for the H-teams and team Iran, and will lead, inexorably to a wider and bloodier conflict in the not to distanat future.
Hezbollah for now is using shia civilians as human shields to be used against Israel in the on going battle to win world public opinion. The Israelis have to work through this and continue their mission of crushing hezbollah, or at least disarming this dangerous shia militia. The Israeli motto should be world opinion be damned, we are going to accomplish our mission however long it takes.
I read an article a few days ago and what caught my eye was the following:
Israel disarms Hezbullah, you have peace
Hezbullah disarms Israel, you have a slaughter
So what is the big deal about 50 or 60 more? Hezbollah acts like this is the first time Israel has killed women and children.

Maybe they couldn't read the leaflet warnings to GTFO of their town. Or maybe they made the conscious decision to stick around and pass the ammo. Those who chose to stay are enemy combatants and must be treated as such.

or maybe the civilians were threatened by hezbullah IF they tried to leave..wouldn't put it past them..
