Be careful what you ask for
An unscientific poll of posters at a Democratic Underground discussion board yields a result that maybe isnt so surprising: 72% of those responding say they are dealing with severe mental illness in their home. Based on the URL, this appears to be genuine, not a spoof.
Whether DU posters are reporting on themselves or close relatives remains an open question.
Of course, Sheldon Drobny of Air America probably thinks that Karl Rove is the sinister force behind Democratic Underground.
I think 72% is an underestimation.
Hell, it may be a misunderestimation.
I thought the same: 72% is way low. I bet the number is kind of like those Philadelphia precinct voter turnout numbers: 103-105%.
Must be Bushes fault...heh...heh...heh..
I think there is a major misunderstanding of the results. The DU'ers are probably merely reporting the existence of moderates and conservatives in their families.
And 28% of them are lying.
It is obvious if you troll around over there, I can't handle it in large doses. There is a command level that seem to know what they are doing, and a whole bunch of whacky puppets.
The (currently) 29% are endangering their membership by claiming to not meet standard DU requirements.
Very good, Igor, our little additives in the sushi and latte are beginning to work! (Sounds of fiendish laughter.)
Remmember, the chalice from the palace has the pellet with the poison but the flagon with the dragon holds the brew that is true.
You should see some of the posts at Ifilm or YouTube regarding anything political.
The quote of the thread was, IMO, (I'm not making this up): "Prozac made me hear voices in my head (not the usual ones)."
I'd like to do a study on how many DU'rs came from single-mommy households.
This starts my day with a smile.
It explains a lot about DU!
:)
Only 72%... 38% are either pathological liars or too stupid to understand the question.
Most of them still live with their parents.
Ah! They think their parents' (more conservative) generation was crazy.
"Only 72%... 38% are either pathological liars or too stupid to understand the question."
While others find addition, subtraction and percentages to be a challenge.
"There's been a change."
"A change?"
"Yes, they broke the flagon with the dragon.".
"They broke the flagon with the dragon?"
"Yes."
"Where's the pellet with the poison?"
"In the vessel with the pestle. The chalice from the palace has the brew that is true"
