Science Fiction has become a poisoned well . .

The essay below was originally written in the early Spring of 2001:

With the passing away of LEXX ends an intriguing albeit tawdry experiment in Sci-fantasy. One that breaks with conventions, or should I say cliches of TV sci-fi of the 90's . The politically correct pabulum, the multicultural indoctrination, the BladeRunner motifs, and not the least; the steroid mutated superbabes that can punch the lights out of men, but never get punched back in return !?

How about creating a new sci-fi anthology with none of the puerile baggage of Rod Serling, Rockne Obannon, Michael J. Stracinsky, etc .. It is time to end their reign of un-American cynicism and fatalism !

Femminazi is a somewhat a misleading term !

That Betty B!tch Friedan and Gloria Steinheim c@nt are not racial supremicists, and they are not rightwing .
They are far-left !

Gyno-Stalinists seems more fitting !
Ever hear of the term 'Gyno-Americans'?

Do you know how much of our "TV" is made in Canada?

I watched Lexx a few times years ago. I'm surprised it was still on the air. I thought it was pretty stupid.

>>Do you know how much of our "TV" is made in Canada?<<

Let's invert that question: do you know how many of these interlopers from Canada are working in Hollywood ?

This was a great show made in Canada except for season 4 and 5

The seasons without Sabrina Lloyd were the best .
At least the season with the first episodes with Kari Wurhrer .

Sandra Hess appeared in an opening episode of season 4,
and that interaction was indeed strange - -

macho testosterone laced females about to gunfight wityh each other .

That is Sci-Fi, it is all transgender role reversal .
Much like the social experimenting in Mao Zedong's China during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960's and early 70's . .

Kari has fake hooters, but they look good !
She has a daughter of her own now . .

I like the tension between Sabrina and Kari in those last episodes of Season three. I wish that they brought in Logan St. Claire into the mix again. It would really have given the Sliders an extra enemy to contend with instead of the Kromaggs. It seemed that the quality of the scripts seemed to fall off starting in season four.

I remember, and enjoyed, the original Galactica and was happy to see that the new series paid homage to the old series' good points yet still developed new ideas and concepts.

I must have missed the "homage". Particularly since the guys who did the "re-imagining" have made statements that they didn't like the original.

If you mean the character played by actress Sandra Hess,
her character was killed off on the first episode of season four .
I liked the first half that season the best !

I really hated Sabrina Lloyd's character, I was hoping she would die violently .

I was too, way back then !

But looking back at those two seris, I realize how cheesy they were, how stupid the characters were . .

Martin Landau was a really bad actor then . . .

P.S. that episode: DRAGON'S DOMAIN, I think helped inspire ALIEN ~ ~

Absolutely correct !

This new series made in Canada(the Cold Dark North) has nothing at all to do with the original series . .

In the first pilot, they did a little homage, here and there,
like showing a Cylon Centurion from the original series in that display case on the Galactica .

This new series and its creators are simply hijacking the title for its' name recognition .

Canadians have doen this cultural atrocity before,
when Sam & Greg Strangis hijacked the title: WAR OF THE WORLDS, to produce a sleazy little series in the late 1980's that had little or nothing to do with the original movie by George Pal, that they claim they based it on .
This TV show was more like a proto-X-Files with slasher film gore (Frank Mancuso Jr was the associate producer)

Ya.  A bunch of folks have mentioned that . My original comment was more of a joke than anything else, especially when you take in to consideration how few Christians show up in SF as well.

Nice link. THanks. I think I have most (or all) on mp3 already. Bought them off ebay years ago when I got tired of dl'ing them one at a time. Now I have to compare lists.

Live live OTR!
