The About-Face of Michael Savage

Posted on 07/19/2006 7:56:31 PM PDT by Yaakov The Orator

Michael Savage went weiner on Israel. Earlier this week, he claimed that the "Palestinians" (who are really just Arabs) are descendants of the Philistines and the Canaanites and that they had once been the rulers of Eretz Yisrael since "time immemorial" (a phrase he stole from Joan Peters, since she wrote on this issue), and that their claim to "Palestine" is equal to that of the Jewish people.

He also blasted Israel for overreacting and killing "innocent civilians."

Probably forgot to take his meds again.

Savage doesn't like it when he suspects that someone --anyone-- begins to think Savage HAS to take a certain side, that he's beholden to some group.

His life in academia was a long laboratory session examining the unreliability of powerful, respected people who abused him and betrayed him, something that I can relate to personally.

Sensing this, he switches his $hit around to teach them a kind of lesson. Savage's lesson is, "While we do agree, do not get the idea I am your bi***". But here --this is your plate of poo, so eat up".

Jeuvinal? A bit...

My guess is someone went around prominently saying, "Savage takes orders from me, you see? Just listen..!"

And so that's what he gave them.

But don't get the idea that I listen to Michael Savage. Because I'm the same as Mike, and Mike put Charlie Schumer on the air, and now I don't listen anymore.

But hey, with all this typing, I'm feeling sluggish and have worked up a thirst:

He read a piece written by a Muslim moderate last week and had the author on his program. The author plucked him like a 12-string guitar, causing Savage's tonsils to resonate with 'All We Are Saying, Is Give Peace A Chance!'

Bet'cha he wears his bell-bottomed pants to the studio today.

He'll probably join a monastary within a month and start writing down all the names of God and watch for the stars to start disappearing.

I have ALWAYS thought he was bipolar. I have also wondered if his wild swings result from improper (or no) lithium. (Do they still use lithium?)

I swear, every time I've turned him on in the past month, he's reading out of that freakin' book.

That makes me turn him right off, because I cannot STAND being read to.

Nut job is all over the place. He is like a bi-polar drug crazed Pat Buchanan. Savage needs to take a freakin stand on something, and then stick with it. His inability to take a well reasoned political stand and then stick with it makes him just another unprincipled middle of the road fence sitter blowing with whatever way the ratings or latest fad tells him to. Half the time I agree with him, the other half the time his logic and political reasoning is too convoluted to follow.

He's still reading out of it? I thought I saw it on closeout in B&N a a couple of years ago.

And I stopped listening before that.

Conservatism is like an umbrella that shields many variants of conservatives from the - sad to say - anti semitic fringes (savage, buchanan) to the RINO wishy washies. The fringe groups usually get pushed away from out of the umbrella.

That said, I'd rather be protected by this conservative mainly Republican umbrella than by a concrete bunker that gathers mostly leftist lunatics among the liberals and never lets them escape!

No, this is the brand-new one, "The Political Zoo." It's every bit as contrived as you'd expect something with that sort of extended metaphor to be.

(I didn't pay for it . . . I won it from a local morning show. In a men-versus-women spelling bee.)

I have little knowledge of the whole deal, but it seems to me there is a mosque built on top of a temple in Jeruselem, indicating the temple was there first. Isreal has my apporval to kick all there muzzie butts. (not that they need my approval...)

Let's see.

Yassir Araft was a Palestinian.

Yassir Arafat was born in Cairo, Egypt.

The Egyptians used to rule the middle east.

So Israel belongs to the Egyptians. And so do the Palestinians. /sarcasm

Weiner shoots from the hip and is not disciplined enough to seek out information before shooting his mouth off.

I enjoy listening to him from time to time, but your analysis is spot on.

I listened to him the yesterday and the day before. He mostly uses insults and gets very angry at callers and hangs up on them. He tells them to stop wasting his time and to get their own show. He's kinda funny, but he reminded me of very angry and unpleasant teachers, principals and professors.
