HEADS UP !! MIND BOGGLING IRANIAN THREAT

HEADS UP - BREAKING NEWS - IRANIAN THREAT - BREAKING ON FR .

REPORTS FROM IRAN STATE:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad has declared he will make an announcement on Wednesday July 19th, 2006 which:

"WILL LET THE MOSLEM WORLD AROUND THE GLOBE KNOW THAT AFTER THE ANNOUNCEMENT THEY WILL NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ISRAEL'S NUCLEAR ARMS OR NUCLEAR CAPABILITY EVER AGAIN"

This provides three possible scenarios:

1. Iran is about to nuke Israel.

2. Iran will declare they have nuclear capability with at least four missiles with NUCLEAR warheads (common knowledge in intelligence circles) that can easily reach all of Israel and threaten to use these against Israel if that country does not immediately cease attacks on the Hezbollah and Lebanon.

3. In the event that Israel does not comply, Iran will declare war on Israel and fire nuclear missiles, which would not leave much of a country over which any more fighting is logical.

HOPED FOR RESULT: Depending on the extent of damage to Israel and the ability of that country to continue as a nation in a radioactively polluted environment, already weak-kneed Western powers will call for creating non-aggression pacts with nuclear Iran.

You have to be one of the old original eggheads. Way back before the term was even coined. Before graphics text games, Infocom published purely text based adventure games. Somewhat similar to text based blogging. The best part of being in those stories is that you always knew you were in a fantasy land. Unfortunately, we do not have that comfort here.

"...sorry to say that I think the US response to an iranian nuke attack will be whistling, shuffling feet, and looking the other way(.)"

A wise person would probably look away from the mushroom cloud.
Depending on the range it might give him or her a couple more minutes of sanity.
(OK, stare at it, what the hell)

PS:
Once the club loses its exclusivity; all bets are off - we'd turn the key.

I haven't tested any of these downloads from this unofficial site, but they claim that Activision made some of these games freely distributable:

"He also stressed that due to the close bonds and brotherhood among the Muslim nations, if anything happens to a group of Muslim people, other Islamic nations rush to their help and support them."

What utter bovine excrement. Think "tsunami" for just a moment.........and WHO was it that responded and provided aid to these Muslim countries??? Iran? Saudi Arabia? Syria? Egypt?

HELL no, it was the good ol' US of A.

I still recall many happy hours playing adventure on an ASR33 teletype in 1981. The game was written by Willy Crowther in FORTAN and ran on the mainframe at the Bell System Center for Technical Excellence in Lisle,IL. Many hours were spent trying to diagram all the paths, objects, magic words and actions. The first person graphics of today's games just turns them into an exercise in eye/hand coordination.

I was stuck at that facility on my birthday, August 26th. As I played adventure, a large entourage of other students walked past in the hall. All dressed in their bedsheets and chanting, "Toga, toga, toga". Somehow I think they had been overly impressed by a trip to see Animal House.

I wonder if we have an Ohio class within range

All the Ohios are "in range", almost no matter where in the world they are.

As long as no one got killed they were okay. One of the members from my house got real messed up. Thought he was Jim Belushi. That is the limitation with Hollywood. It is just pure fantasy. Always will be.

Of course the real question is what are the Iranians actually doing, rather than merely what's coming out of their mouths. Are they mobilizing troops? Are missiles being prepared for firing? Are aircraft being brought to alert stage? All this sort of thing would be visible to our eyes in the sky.
