I wouldn't be surprised if there are Iranians in Lebanon...I would imagine this has been part of the reason for Ahmadinejad's most recent rant, stating that an attack on Syria would effectively be an act of war against "All Muslim nations," at least in his own twisted little mind.

Thanks this is really interesting, like a blind man watching a football game and telling us on radio what is happening on the field, he can't see.

Talk about the fog of war...

I would not be so quick to dismiss this allegation. There is no predetermined time limit that I'm aware of that automatically negates a given statement.

We all understand it could be a mistaken statement, but until it is verified, I'll believe what I heard and I will not believe your misgivings on the subject.

Again, I'd rather believe in what the IDF are actually reporting than Debka-esque theories.

They have little to gain from hiding something like this, and everything to gain from exposing it.

I thought they were already at the "intense" level? :)

Thanks for the ping.

By the way, the troops in Iraq are really disconnected on the news cycle about all this. It is happening way too quickly for the average soldier to keep up.

What you believe should generally be the other way around, no?!

We have 50,000 sitting on the DMZ in Korea now who can't be redeployed. I am wondering if the Axis of Evil is actually working in tandem here. Kim Jung Il has us pre-occupied in Korea, the Taliban is going on an offensive in Afghanistan, and all this crap. We seriously need NATO and Japan to get involved with bodies. Japan in Korea, NATO in the middle east. A stitch in time, might save nine here.

Southack also probably believed there were no Russians on the ground in Iraq.
