That is the "curse" of America as the world's great power. Since our very beginnings, we've never wanted that responsibility, only to be left to ourselves. The world is a very different place than when we were created as a nation, however. And we either have to step up to it [for the third or fourth time in the last 100 years] or let others determine the fate of the world. Honestly, I don't know what our answer will be...our internal politics are abysmal (as is always the case in a wealth-ridden society).
I'm blown away by how many people aren't aware of what's going on in the ME today. Every fiber in my being is on high alert.
I'll pay 5 bucks a gallon for gas, or more, if we can get rid of this menace, because I know in my very soul it's not going away.
The Syrian defense minister was quoted as saying that Iran and Syria were examining ways of countering American threats "and are establishing a joint front against Israel's threats... [since] Iran regards Syria's security as its own."
Lots of bad news...

I don't think I'd knock the wealth of our country, I applaud it and encourage it.
The decay that accompanies those without any moral compass is the problem. One look at Hollywood and you get my gist.
I don't think our founders would be proud of them.
Thank you.
I was listening to him on XM on the way home and was thinking YES! This is who I want for our next president. He has the best understanding of the international stage of any. Even though I think I am an isolationist at heart - it just ain't possible in today's world. And today I'm thinking Newt. We'll see.
You mean end the "Occupation" of the Balkans??
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
It's obvious: Attack Israel> Elicit strong response> Create the Chaos> Out of which the Mahdi appears> and gives Ahmadinejad 7,200 virgins.
Maybe Lizarde, they are like me - reading as fast as they can and learning from more knowledgeable people.
No apology required, but the Old Testament is certainly good to know; those dusty old Prophets are gettin more and more relevant every day.
I will watch for it. Newt will get it straight. Thanks for the data.
Armeggedon ? in the Valley of Megiddo?
I don't, I'm happy to partake in it (I'd be a bit hypocritical to think anything else).
It's just something that plagues the great western societies -- our policies become based on wealth preservation and enhancement as opposed to moral standing (as you allude to). It happened to Greece, Rome, Spain and Britain before us. The moral aspect and the fundamental "rightness" of our practices and philosophies (they work with human nature as opposed to against it) keep us as strong as we are. But like with individuals, the temptations and capabilities that come with great wealth do have a corrupting effect on the society as a whole. And it's that which we struggle against in great moral questions such as we now face with Islamic fascism.
Way behind on this thread.. However. Many people have been kept aware of the betrayal in an indirect subconscious kinda way. The popular notion that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day was apparently all based on the very day that the Knights Templar were betrayed by French Royals. Royal betrayal, apparently a common occurrence that occurred to many of our different ancestral groups.
Hey old friend watch the "Muslim Women eating spaghetti" video. It's a hoot!

Mine, too. I was unable to cry after 9/11, even though I kind of wanted to. It jsut went too deep.
Then, when I saw the Pentagon at Christmas 2001 and Ground Zero in March 2001, my anger was almost frightening.
Now, I find it hard to remember how life was before the resulting wars, even though it really wasn't that long ago.
