Are you like me? Have you assumed that Alan Colmes is an essentially harmless, if misguided, liberal? If so, we might all have to rethink things in light of his apparent statement on tonight's Hannity & Colmes that he is 'agnostic' as to who is responsible for the destruction of the World Trade Center.
H&C had wanted to have on as its guest University of Wisconsin instructor Kevin Barrett, who claims that the Bush administration orchestrated the 9/11 attacks and used controlled explosions to bring down the WTC towers.
Barrett is apparently laying low and declined to come on the show. But H&C managed to dig up a substitute conspiracy buff in the person of one Bob Bowman, member of the august Veterans for 9/11 Truth. Oh, and by the way, Bowman also happens to be . . . a Democratic candidate for congress from Florida's 15th District!
In any case, Bowman told Sean "I'm agnostic about these conspiracy theories," adding that Barrett's "conspiracy theory is far more believable than yours," and further: "I don't know who did it and neither do you."
Later, addressing himself to Bowman, Colmes said: "Bob, I'm Alan Colmes. I'm agnostic as well . . . As I understand it this theory while propounded in this class is not central to what he is teaching in this class. As a matter of fact, 400 pages are provided supporting the official government version and 75 pages supporting the alternative [crazy conspiracy] version that we are debating here."
Maybe in all the cross-fire I misread what Colmes was saying. But it sure sounds as if he is willing to entertain the possibilty that the Bush administration might have been responsible for the destruction of the WTC. If that's true, he has written himself out of the 'harmless liberal' category in my book.
There was a time when Colmes didn't bother me. I found him likeable adn reasonable, for a liberal. After Bush won in '04, Colmes's demeanor changed. He developed a nasty edge that's still there. I stopped liking him.
Not in these times. Not any longer.
AMEN to that.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
Ratings and too much DU.
In context, that's what it looks like. COlmes often tries to be "funny" and never succeeds, and in context, he brings up that there is no evidence of the guest's belief.
Don't you wish Ollie would just reach over and slap the snot out of that dumb jarhead when he does that?
And if Colmes said that about 9/11, then yes he is just as nuts as Ward Churchill and Cynthia McKinney.
Don't confuse me with facts!
Question: If Bush orchestrated the WTC attacks and demolished the buildings by demolition, how in the world did he mass hypnotize the entire world that saw the airplanes strike the buildings?
Did he mass hypnotize the Klintoons in 1993 when the first attempt was made by truck bomb, oops, I'm sure that it was Bush who set that too, right?
Where do these moonbats come from?
I was eating dinner and heard him say it but wasn't watching so I don't know in what context he said it. It got my attention when he dropped the word agnostic.
Are you sure this wasn't his feeble attempt at humor? He's way out there at times but if he was serious he should be fired ASAP.
bttt
9/11 deniers and holocausts deniers are sick.
I think Ollie must have patience of a saint, I wouldn't be able to stand being in the same room with Colmes, much less talked to with such disdain.
Thanks for your report. Given everything, there's no doubt Colmes said he was 'agnostic.' If this blows up into a controversy, look for Colmes to claim he was either joking or agnostic about something other than W's involvement. But I'm becoming more convinced I had it right. Thanks again.
Every controlled demolition I've ever seen in person or on video had a long series of blasts that were very evident from the outside by the ejected debris, followed 1-2 seconds later by the collapse.
The WTC towers collapsed, and then the debris was ejected from the building levels as they fell. Unless someone can re-create a controlled demolition that looks similar, the Dems simply make themselves look even more ridiculous with this nonsense.
Interesting, too, that they believe an American could plot such an atrocity, but that Middle Eastern males between the ages of 18 and 32 could not... especially when they celebrated and claimed credit for it.
I saw it...yes, that's what Colmes said. He's an idiot.
That seems to be one of Alans fairly new techniques, talk over your guest so no one can hear them knowing full well he's the one in the wrong. I've just about had it with H&C>
No, not hallucinating; just a wish that it was a bad dream.
Agnosticism is not about doubt. It asserts with full confidence that truth cannot be fully known, particularly while we live. Whatever the subject, an agnostic view is still open to any possibility.
Are you sure it's up to Hannity?
