Colmes 'Agnostic' as to Whether Bush Brought Down WTC?

Are you like me? Have you assumed that Alan Colmes is an essentially harmless, if misguided, liberal? If so, we might all have to rethink things in light of his apparent statement on tonight's Hannity & Colmes that he is 'agnostic' as to who is responsible for the destruction of the World Trade Center.

H&C had wanted to have on as its guest University of Wisconsin instructor Kevin Barrett, who claims that the Bush administration orchestrated the 9/11 attacks and used controlled explosions to bring down the WTC towers.

Barrett is apparently laying low and declined to come on the show. But H&C managed to dig up a substitute conspiracy buff in the person of one Bob Bowman, member of the august Veterans for 9/11 Truth. Oh, and by the way, Bowman also happens to be . . . a Democratic candidate for congress from Florida's 15th District!

In any case, Bowman told Sean "I'm agnostic about these conspiracy theories," adding that Barrett's "conspiracy theory is far more believable than yours," and further: "I don't know who did it and neither do you."

Later, addressing himself to Bowman, Colmes said: "Bob, I'm Alan Colmes. I'm agnostic as well . . . As I understand it this theory while propounded in this class is not central to what he is teaching in this class. As a matter of fact, 400 pages are provided supporting the official government version and 75 pages supporting the alternative [crazy conspiracy] version that we are debating here."

Maybe in all the cross-fire I misread what Colmes was saying. But it sure sounds as if he is willing to entertain the possibilty that the Bush administration might have been responsible for the destruction of the WTC. If that's true, he has written himself out of the 'harmless liberal' category in my book.

Maybe the Dems should investigate this. After all, its not the body of evidence that's important--its the seriousness of the charge!

No such thing as a "Harmless" liberal.

Not in these times. Not any longer.

NO kidding, If dems want to investigate this, GREAT! Show everyone that they are truly mad.

Fox news should fire Colmes. This is too extreme a view to have, even just agnostic as he says. That is madness. And just shows what mad fools the left has become, or likely been all along.

Anti-American POS Colmes is nothing but a blow-hard. Their hatred for America knows no bounds.

It comes from postmodernism. What is truth? Could Hitler by alive? Could Karl Rove actually be Adolph Hitler? I know he doesn't look like he's 114, and his German accent is very mild, but -- bottom line: I don't know the truth here, and neither do you. It is at least possible ...

That's, uh, that's sarcasm, people.

It's because Colmes doesn't have an original thought in his whole head. Whatever the topic he takes the opposite side of common sense.

Did anyone else see this? I still have trouble believing Colmes said it, but I was quite sure I heard it and then did find it in the closed-caption transcript.

I seldom watch H&C because C is employed. H is tough enough with all his schleppin but C is just plain oblivious.

Colmes probably plays canasta with Juan Williams.

In context I think he was making a joke about being agnostic in terms of religion. Some of us are; that don't mean we believe retarded theories about the WTC or are any less American than anyone else.

It's rerun late at night (2am ET). Could he have been making a joke (agnostic) and referring to his belief in God? He deadpans a lot. It's not funny, but he does it often. I tend to mute it he's talking.

If so, then why weren't Clinton appointees, Louis Freeh & George Tenet on
to this diabolical scheme of W's?

I saw that. Darned near fell out of my chair. It's enough they have these kooks on and give them any air time at all, but to actually make a comment like that????? Now I know he's crazy.

BTW notice how when Ollie North is on and making sense Colmes will spend the segment talking over ollie so no one can hear what he is saying?

If you misread what he said...so did the person that does the closed captioning...because that is what the CC said.

I was listening to my radio and had CC on H&C...and just shook my head when I saw the word "gnostic"....they always misspell stuff..but I assumed it meant agnostic.

Actually, I am not surprised that Alan said that...I get his radio show, LIVE, here in the Dallas area ...and I have tried to listen but he is a LOT worse on his radio show than he is on TV...yuck

I don't think so.. there was no religion in the discussion and the guest was a certifiable kook.

Thanks for your reports. Sounds like I might not have been hallucinating, as incredible as Colmes' statement seemed.
