A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Good Morning all!
Folks gather at the DFW airport to welcome our troops as they return from Iraq, seeing the warm welcome amd seeing our troops tears as people hug them and shake their hand is about as warm and fuzzy feelings one can get.
Proud to be an American, proud of our Troops and their Commander In Chief they are the reason America is able to safely celebrate her 230th year birthday!!

Crooked And Straight

READ:
Hebrews 11:1-7By faith Noah . . . prepared an ark for the saving of his household. Hebrews 11:7
Charles Haddon Spurgeon, the great London preacher, found in Noahs life the principle that every act of faith condemns the world. By faith Noah . . . moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith (Hebrews 11:7).
Commenting on that verse, Spurgeon said: Live a holy life . . . . I have heard it said that if there is a crooked stick, and you want to show how crooked it is, you need not waste words in description. Place a straight one by the side of it, and the thing is done directly. Noah condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
The New Testament calls Noah a preacher of righteousness (2 Peter 2:5), even though none of his sermons are recorded in the Bible. Perhaps it was Noahs obedience to God in building the ark that stands as his greatest witness to a self-centered and violent generation. According to all that God commanded him, so he did (Genesis 6:22).
How easy it is to be critical of the sins of others. But how much more powerful to demonstrate the grace and righteousness of our God by living for Him. David C. McCasland
So let our lips and lives express
The holy gospel we profess;
So let our works and virtues shine
To prove the doctrine all divine. Watts

That is how my brother sends pics, it's pretty neat.
It was enjoyable and sad. I hope it wasn't the last time I see her, but if it was, then we had a couple of great conversations and the smile on her face made the whole trip worth it.

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!
AMAZING GRACE
by John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
.
Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, .
And grace my fears relieved; .
How precious did that grace appear.
The hour I first believed! .
.
Through many dangers, toils and snares, .
I have already come; .
Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, .
And grace will lead me home. .
.
The Lord has promised good to me, .
His Word my hope secures; .
He will my Shield and Portion be, .
As long as life endures. .
.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, .
And mortal life shall cease, .
I shall possess, within the veil, .
A life of joy and peace. .
.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, .
The sun forbear to shine; .
But God, Who called me here below, .
Will be forever mine. .
.
When weve been there ten thousand years, .
Bright shining as the sun, .
Weve no less days to sing Gods praise.
Than when wed first begun. .
