Sorry, on this point I disagree with you...I think the Bush Administration..and Bush personally, have been saying it since just after 9/11...
BUT, closed minds don't care.
I am not sure what can be done about it. Certainly some commodities shortages are runningup the cost of housing and manufacturing. Opening the door to thefts too.
Thank you very much....
Re: the smoking topic.
I totally agree with Morgan in Denver's take at post #564...he ALWAYS says things so well, doesn't he??
The fact that the only place you can read about it is on the WH web site proves my point.
The DNC has no problem getting its message out through its propaganda wing in the press.
The WH apparently thinks posting a top ten list on their website is enough to counter the enemy propaganda that Iraq is not part of the WOT.
It is most certainly not enough.
Poll shows dissatisfaction with Iraq war
Approval rating for war on terrorism also slips

(CNN) -- Nearly six in 10 Americans oppose the war in Iraq and a growing number of them are dissatisfied with the war on terrorism, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Monday.
If the WH PR people were doing their job, any leftist, say Rat minority leader Botox Pelosi who said "We would be much safer today if President Bush had kept his focus on Al Qaeda, rather than diverting crucial resources from the war on terror in Afghanistan to a war of choice in Iraq", would be challenged to answer the question of whether they considered Saddam a terrorist, yes or no.
The White House Press Secretary could challenge the press to ask Pelosi the question at a news briefing, or ask Pelosi the question directly and have it relayed via media.
Nothing of the sort happens however, because the Administration has demonstrated itself to be clueless on the necessity of winning the propaganda war at home.
Its a hell of a thing to ask our military to die and then leave them undefended against propaganda attacks by domestic enemies.
Any reporter who is not familiar with Swift transactions and its place in international banking processes is not qualified to report on any international finance stories.
Oh, wait, journalism majors are not required to take any economics courses, or understand any financial concepts. No wonder they report the way they do.
Please don't hold back samantha,ROTFLMAO
He sure has been a control freak lately, he needs to get that Viagra out of his doctors name as well.
As txsleuth says closed minds
Big bucks, enough to go to the DR every weekend if he wants.
Could not agree more. WH media has been dismal, especially after the models of War Room, Rapid Response Teams, Bimbo Eruption Squads, etc. of 8 years prior. Scott McClelland was a total waste (Memo to self: Never hire your friend's or relative's kids.). All the surrogates who used to fan out, e.g. Lanny Davis (Cheshire Cat grin only rivaled by slime bag Benveniste). A good one, Karen Hughes, got sent back to Texas and then over to Mid-East to win hearts and minds (huh?). We needed her here where she relates well with media and American people.
It will take some time, but I think things are changing.
And, may I point out, that whatever the WH puts out isn't necessarily covered by the MSM. The MSM is very good at squelching stories that would support the President.
I do, however, have my antennae up when Soros and Buffett are doing something similar.
You can tell how slowly I am making it through this thread...
I am posting in between going outside to help hubby cut kudzu out of our trees..YUCK..
Anyway..I just heard a guy from Maine..a member of Veterans for Truth...saying he is AGAINST the license plate holders that say "Support the troops"...because having them in the state means that Maine supports an illegal war..
So they are fighting it...
I tell ya.....some Americans have gone totally crazy, IMHO>
Well I found two and MID found two. This was a June 06 Story if I recall and I guess the story is an update because of the Court Proceedings.
But it has been a wonderful move and no matter how long he stays his performance there will cinch any job he is inclined to take. He has been stellar and has the "drivers" all doing 55 or less and issues speeding tickets at the slightest sign of a "speeder",or "drunken driver".
I think our president performed his own Britt Hume caliber smackdown of his "handlers" by hiring Tony and turning over the communications strategy in large part to him. It was a very public declaration that the "rose garden" strategy of the "professional politicians" was a bust. Dubya brought in a grown up and gave him his marching orders: "Fix It!"
Tony is, indeed, a brilliant choice and he is performing beyond anyone's expectations... except ours, since we always knew just how good he was.
