Unbelievable that McCain would disrespect REAL soldiers, who bravely wear their country's uniform on the battlefield, by bestowing "rights" to those who do not.

It is a slap in the face to all soldiers world-wide to honor terrorist head-choppers who cowardly target women and children in the marketplace, and blow them to pieces.

The liberals on the court, and all those who support this political decision, are proving their inability to govern by letting their hatred for President Bush overtake their respect and honor for soldiers.

Why would anyone now want to be a soldier? Why, when you are given no more respect than the average Islamic terrorist?

Sickening, deadly, and ruinous.

Safire said that the press was elected by the founding fathers to report the truth because they wanted checks and balances.(Safire is a history buff and wrote a book.)

Washington Post mocks the Reader in Chief .

There could be a reason for the first title.

Makes you believe Mussolini was right that the only thing "reporters" are good at is decorating Lampposts? Surly ours are proof.

I honestly know of no boundry the left will not cross in their drive for power. Even the UCMJ. If you will vote for them, they will promise anything, which is why they are so often on both sides of issues.

Okay, McCain really is for the UCMJ applying to enemy combatants. It shouldn't be exactly the same, but it's a good framework, he says. McCain is going to create mischief on this thing.

Fox is journalism for juveniles. It is trite television. And with the exception of one hour a day (Hume controlled) it batters the senses and evokes the memory of Newton Minnow.

I would argue that the Journal Editorial Report is also quite good.  As is Fox News Sunday (most of the time... if Britt is on... especially if he unleashes a smack down!).  And though it's not news, per se, Oliver North's War Stories is excellent.

And I had to look up Newton Minnow to know that he is the one that called TV "the vast wasteland" in a speech in 1961.

While I wouldn't go as far as Benito, I would say that reporters are useful in that if we didn't have them, we wouldn't have material with which to line our birdcages and house-train our dogs.

Nope, they have a quota to fill.  They've already put out the casting call for a "young African American female reporter with experience and strong opinions."

Garafolo could temporarily fill in, until they find their token black woman.

Yes, yes I think John is really 'round the bend. He is too confused to understand that the likes of the senile Stevens would probably rule that the UCMJ was unconstitutional as a result of the misplaced concern for terrorists-- which the poor addled judge no doubt considers to be part of the human race.

DiFi thinks it is our strength to give detainees Constitutional rights. She also thinks the Hamdan decision does apply to the NSA program. (Is there a brain in there?)

OH how I wanted to smack him(chucky Shooomer)

Get in line RIV.

Just finished watching most of MTP, it was a bit hysterical today.

To begin with Andrea deserves an Oscar or Emmy for wearing at least ten pounds of face makeup for a single hour of t.v., no on else in history has every worn as much makeup I fear.

Chucky started out saying how deeply saddened he was because GW does not ask the Senate how to wage war and how so many things will now have to be reviewed after the SC's recent rulings.(excuse me while I hurl for a while)

Mitch McConnell rightly pointed out that the enemy(the out of uniform terrorists)are not subject to the rules of the Geneva conf. A fact that the rats seem to foreget all too often.

Meanwhile in true hillary clinton style, Shoomer was trying to take both sides of every issue there was even his numerous spats with the sainted one aunt hill.--Problem is shooomer is too dumb to effect all the necessary nuances of triangulation and simply comes off as a fool.

On the release of classified intel by the NYT andrea says that Richard Clark said it was o.k.(Bennett later reminded her what a dud Clark was)

One of the biggest disappointments of the panel was William Sapphire who basically caved big time when it came to supporting his paper, the slimes, about giving away, printing, valued intel. From now on he will never ever have any credibility with me. I amssuer he was under enormous pressue but when you sell out the troops to keep your job you might as well quit yourself. He really lost it when he stated that; "I'm hip to this stuff "as if he really did have a clue which he doesn't.

Bill Bennett was better than I ever dreamed as he truthfully pointed out he was the only conservative on the panel. He was brave enough to go up agasint the NYT and at one point, after Dana the evil Priest made a comment about gambling, you sort of got the feeling that Bennet would have like to have taken his mighty arm and just slapped her right against the wall, but then he is way too much of a gentleman to do that( I wouldn't have been).

Bennett really nailed the entire panel when he asked is it right for the public to challenge the press when they go too far? No on had a good response to that.

The wall street journal guy kept trying to spin the free speech part of his excuse for siding with the terrorists while Dana priest just came off as an absolute zero, and got pretty upset with Bennett a few times when he told what a traitor she really was in very eloquent terms.

Bennett closed the show with an outstanding commentIf people get hurt, people get killed, the press is responsiblehe was truly spectacular.

On MTP right now the MSM is proving beyond any doubt that they consider themselves above the law, and that they are anti-American. Safire included.

You noticed that too, huh??

They think they can do anything because of the 1st amendment

Did ya also notice they didn't comment when Bennet mentioned Judy Miller

You kids are just kicking butt today. I am way, way behind and only at Post 56. These posts are so great that I am re-reading them, savoring them for the unbelievable insight and intellectual commentary. I continue to see a higher and higher quality of posts on this thread every week. Rodguy must have eaten his wheaties today, he is in rare form and deserves special award for posts already. Morgan,Bahbah,Anita, and Snugs (You go girl),and others make me really proud to be a part of this thread. Our brave men and women fighting the war against Terror and for our freedom all over the world, but especially in Iraq and Afghanistan cannot fight there and here at the same time. We are the New Media soldiers that must continue to take on the Liberals and the hateful old media for the battle to win the War at home. Lets continue to "Roll", and make the old media know that they will not win against our Military, our President, and our decent Citizens. Rant off.....
