A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

IDLE THOUGHTS OF A RETIRED PERSON

I planted some birdseed. A bird came up. Now I don't know what to feed it.

I had amnesia once -- or was it twice.

I went to San Francisco. I found someone's heart. Now what?

Protons have mass? -- I didn't even know they were Catholic.

All I ask ... is a chance to prove that money can't make me happy.

If the world were a logical place, men would ride horses sidesaddle.

They told me I was gullible and I believed them.

Teach a child to be polite and courteous in the home and, when he grows up, he'll never be able to merge his car onto a freeway.

Experience is the thing you have left when every thing else is gone.

What if there were no hypothetical questions?

The shampoo promised me extra body and I gained three pounds.

When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem begins to look like a
20 penny nail.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

The cost of living hasn't affected its popularity.

How can there be self-help "groups"?

Where do forest rangers go to "get away from it all"?

Is it possible to be totally partial?

What's another word for thesaurus?

If swimming is so good for your figure, how do you explain whales?

Show me a man with both feet firmly on the ground, and I'll show you a man who can't get his pants off.

It's not an optical illusion. It just looks like one.

Is it my imagination, or do buffalo wings taste like chicken

*grin*
Hope you're enjoying Warm Fuzzy Wednesday.

our local rose society in NC was big on showing/shows also. But equally into the horticulture etc also. I at first was hesitant from showing my roses. (or at least going crazy over them)..

then.. I wont a top prize for my "Pristine".. that hooked me. I turned into a rose geek!

Now here in Ohio I only have some wild roses .. I always liked the old ones.. more or less as a hedge. I have mostly English garden types of flower beds.

I love growing roses, but I don't know all that much about them, except they like lots of water, good drainage and a good systemic rose food/insecticide every once in awhile. Mine pretty much grow without much care beyond that.

I do have to force myself not to buy more roses during the bare-root planting season. I just don't have room for anymore.

Retired Persons Thoughts ping...

Really funny! My fave thought from this funny list is:

"...The shampoo promised me extra body and I gained three pounds..."

Here is what the deck looked like at the end of today.

Not bad for 2 days work.

Great work, Rus. The deck is really starting to take shape. It is going to be great.

I loved what you did with that bathroom 3 or 4 days ago. What a difference you made.

Hello Mayor! Thanks for adding me to your ping list.

I built this for a customer by myself, and remodeled the whole house. Your deck is looking excellent!
