How would Allen compare to Pence? I really haven't started following the '08 election yet, so don't know much on either.

Same problem...no name ID. Could be remedied by '08, though, as no one had heard of Clinton in 1990.

I think Allen would stack up very well to Pence, in fact I think Pence would endorse him.

>>If you liked what Bill Clinton did with interns in the White House you will love what Gingrich does with them. <<

And yet oddly enough, interns and or private affairs in general don't figure much into my vote for President. I vote on policy and the liklihood of getting that policy carried out with some consideration for whether I would trust the person to run a war.

You're absolutely right. That's why they wanted the turncoat Jim Webb to challenge him for re-election. The Rats know that Webb will not win. They just want to keep it close to damage a potential Allen presidential candidacy in 2008. They've already trotted out the first "polls" by the Rat pollster, Zogby, to try and mislead people into thinking that Webb has closed the gap to five points. That is a bunch of road apples.

Newt has zero chance of ever being elected.
I think we need him to fill the "bull dog" vice president position. He could survive that look at Cheney!!

He's a very weak public speaker. I like him, but he's not ready to run for the big office; I'm thinking VP first and then a run for the top job.

But he ruined his chances to be president years ago..

Correction, the MSM ruined his chances. They wag the GOP. I'd like an intense primary for the candidates, and Gingrich would bring that.

Remember the MSM will attempt to ruin any GOP front runner. They usually succeed, if not their targets need years to recover. With Gingrich it would be old hat, if they attack his record and ideas, they lose.

George Allen is my choice as he continues to stand with Oklahoma's Dr. Tom Coburn on issue after issue. George Allen is my kind of conservative who is not afraid to stand for his beliefs, articulate, very good looking, and loves football.

All the activists I know in Oklahoma support George Allen especially after his great speech at our GOP Convention in 2005.

You're right that the MSM will attempt to ruin the GOP frontrunner. But Newt didn't need them to ruin his own political career with his actions. He can't blame them for his own inopportune (I'm being very kind here) actions.

Would Newt win against Evan?

Nope. Newt would be an easy mark for just about anybody the Dems would put up.

I saw Allen speaking at a political dinner on C-Span awhile back. I thought he was a very good speaker. Certainly as good as our current president--and I think better. Speaking well is important, but there are other more important attributes. It does give the arrogant MSM a tool to attack a president by, though, that's for certain.

He can't blame them...

Who then? Who do you think dug into up his personnel life and presented it in the worse possible light. And sorry, I don't think you're being very 'kind'.

What we do know is that he's been straight as an arrow with us and with conservatism.
