The news that Dan Rather is being left at the entrance of the ''Ancient Liberals Home'' by CBS, and that NBCs Todays ratings have not even noticed that Katie Couric is missing, is enough to bring a tear of joy to any conservatives eye. This combined with the pathetic sight of the MSM trying to stop the conservative tractor trailer that is Ann Coulters Godless is enough to turn those tears to leaps. The best way to make this conservative trifecta a quartet of joy would be if Courics CBS ratings turned out to be compost.
Good Riddance, Kenneth
Seeing CBS push Rather off the plank does not bring even an ounce of compassion for me, given the way that old liberal blasted conservatism during his blatantly biased career. From letting his biased agenda drip with each word and thought, to attempting to sabotage an election, Dan Rather never met a liberal outrage he did not agree with.
It is only fitting that now CBS is doing to Rather what Rather has done to conservatives since he was playing with a rattle. I have always said that liberals will use you until they do not need you, and then they will blow you off like a mosquito on their shoulder. Their entire victim-of-the-month-campaign is built on this cunning and treacherous hypocrisy. Every liberal talking-head out there will fall out of favor one day, will lose his or her usefulness, and so eventually every liberal will be asked to assume the position by a liberal establishment which pretends to care but only cares to pretend. Kenneth, you may not have known the frequency then, but the liberal establishment has clearly sent you the message now. That message is take a hike.
America Forgets Its Sweetheart
As CBS dumps one liberal it takes on a new one with its fingers crossed as to the outcome. While we can only hope that Katie Courics tenure will prove to be a disaster, we already know that her departure from NBC has been anything but. After being led to believe that Courics departure would create a huge hole to fill, we have found out that her tenure was just filler as the shows ratings did not even notice.
Again, we see liberals learning that their indispensable, vital messages and contributions are nothing but hot air easily replaced by the next liberal mouthpiece and talking head. All too often we see liberals being reminded of just how trivial and insignificant they really are despite their self-perception as saviors of the world. Every time a liberal finds out he or she is nothing but a speck in the universe the devil gets a headache.
Did Anyone Get the License Number of that Truck?
If the plight of Rather and the triviality of Couric are not enough to bring a smile to conservatives, the sight of the road kill MSM under the wheels of Ann Coulters Godless locomotive should do the trick. One gets the image of Al Franken, Jeanine Garofalo, Hillary Clinton, and Barbara Walters running in front of a truck ordering it to stop only to be obliterated in a cloud of smoke. If it was not clear before just how little mainstream, real Americans care what these liberal fools think, this ought to clear things up a bit.
Somewhere along the line, liberals got the impression that their views and opinions are actually taken seriously by most Americans. Somewhere in time liberals became delusional enough to forget that the only way they get anything they want done is to force the issue through the radical judiciary ignoring most Americans. In case you forgot why they use the courts as their ticket to relevance, just look at what happens when they appeal to the hearts, minds, souls, and opinions of normal, average Americans. They get dusted like a squirrel under the wheels of a rig.
Conclusion
Conservatives are human beings and therefore we are vulnerable to losing sight of why we are here and not grilling burgers at Barbara Boxers house. Moments in time like the present come once in a while to remind us of what we stand for, what we believe, what we do not stand for, and why liberals are twice as whatever they call us.
You see, liberals pretend to care, pretend to feel, pretend to cry, pretend to serve, pretend to be loyal, and ultimately pretend to know--but they dont. Hug as many trees as they can, marry as many gays as they can, stamp out as many fetuses as they can, liberals are fakes and phonies. Somewhere along the line they will show their true colors and betray their own. Somewhere along the line they will treat each other as they have treated conservatives. Somewhere along the line they will discover that they are not as important as they thought they were to the survival of the human race. Dan Rather, Katie Couric, and the Coulter liberal establishment attackers just found out where that somewhere is.
I agree
what is that german word that means to enjoy the misery of others?
Schaedenfreude?
I don't get the 'Kenneth' bit? Who is 'Kenneth'?
Dan Rather was once attacked and beaten while walking down a street in New York City. His assailant was heard to yell, "What's the frequency, Kenneth?" repeatedly.
Ever since then, that nickname has stuck. REM did a song with that as the refrain that has since immortalized the incident.

Dear Yahoo!:
What's the story behind R.E.M.'s song "What's the Frequency, Kenneth"?
Dana
Nashua, New Hampshire
Dear Dana:
CBS News anchor Dan Rather, renowned for his unusual expressions and sayings, has led a colorful life. However, one bizarre event really takes the cake.
One night in October 1986, Rather was walking down a Manhattan street when he was punched from behind and thrown to the ground. His assailant kicked and beat him while repeating, "Kenneth, what is the frequency?"
No one could explain the event, and the rumors flew fast and wide. Some speculated the assailant was a KGB agent, while others claimed the attack was the work of a jealous husband. Rather himself couldn't shed any light on the subject. His explanation at the time?
I got mugged. Who understands these things? I didn't and I don't now. I didn't make a lot of it at the time and I don't now. I wish I knew who did it and why, but I have no idea.
Apparently the strange event moved R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe, who said of the incident:
It remains the premier unsolved American surrealist act of the 20th century. It's a misunderstanding that was scarily random, media hyped and just plain bizarre.
The attack inspired the 1994 R.E.M. hit "What's the Frequency, Kenneth." Being a good sport, Dan Rather even accompanied the band when they performed the song on a Late Show with David Letterman appearance.
In 1997, based on a tip from a psychiatrist, Rather's attacker was identified as William Tager. According to the psychiatrist, Tager, who was currently serving time for killing an NBC stagehand, blamed news media for beaming signals into his head, and thought if he could just find out the correct frequency, he could block those signals that were constantly assailing him. Hence the enigmatic inquiry.
Thank you. I was not aware of that incident.
Not that there is a lot to like in this article. This line really says a lot.
is =isn't
It mut be to late to be posting on FR.
The jerks should have left Coulter out of their stooopid reporting. Again, rthey shot themselves in the foot with their dopey sensationalism on Ann's book.
"what is that german word that means to enjoy the misery of others?"
der Analhusten?
[ROFLMAO]
bttt
also the phony dan would end his broadcast with courage or some other nonsense each nite; and always inferred that he was a marine, come to find out he never made it out of basic and I believe it was w/i the first 2-3 wks, he is nothing but a punked out wussie
Very good article! Thanks for posting.
In the mid-1980s ('86?), Dan Rather was mugged in NYC by guys who, while beating him, repeatedly yelled, "Kenneth, what's the frequency?" As far as I know, no one was ever arrested and the surreal utterance was never explained.
REM referenced the incident in the song "What's the frequency, Kenneth" on the 1994 album "Monster." It was a pretty decent song, but I liked REM a lot better when I couldn't understand a word Stipe was singing.
A sideline burst of joy is the news that Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann each have national TV viewership numbers about equal to the population of Lubbock, Texas (take note Dixie Chicks). I am hoping the numbers equal the population of the President's hometown of Crawford in another year (assuming they even have shows of MSNBC by then).
This is a great op-ed and I think it speaks volumes about what is really going on between the two political parties today. Americans are recognizing the left more and more as being the party of fakers, liars and thieves.
And that is simply unAmerican.
"Somewhere along the line, liberals got the impression that their views and opinions are actually taken seriously by most Americans."
That sums it up completely.
Schadenfreude (sp?)
