While Jimmy Carter has fared better in the public imagination as an ex-President than he did as Commander in Chief, his rather colorful brother Billy passed away in 1988 at age 51 from pancreatic cancer. We were very young when Carter was pres, but we do, in the dark recesses of our mind, remember the hubbub about Billy Beer (which we didnt understand back then; all we heard was beer. Mmmm
beer
). We dont, however, remember this pickup, built as a full-size version of a Revell model kit. Click over and check it out, and note the sweet in-dash digital clock. State of the art in ride-pimping, circa 1977.

My dad still has a case of unopened Billy Beer, but it's in his attic. In southwest Houston. And has been for almost 30 years. Blech.
So you've had that one beer occupying fridge space for the better part of three decades? What occasion are you saving it for?

You really should clean out the fridge once in a while. Since 1978? Why???

I had a 6 pack....but my son and his HS buddies decided they needed it.....which I didn't discover that it was missing for about 6 months....then of course no one knew what happened to it. A few years ago he finally admitted what happened and then had the audacity to complain that it tasted rotten and admitted that they threw the rest of it away!!

I started saving it for a friend that I thought I would see again, after I found it still in the back of my fridge in 1980. I kept it for a number of years thinking that I had heard that the can is worth more to a collector un-opened and that the beer would survive corrosive spoilage if refrigerated.. That friend died in the 90s before I ever got to see him and give it to him and I have just kept it in there, since I have only moved once in the last 22 years. Actually, the inexpensive refrigerator is from the same 70s era as well. Even though I want a new one, since the old Roper won't die and I haven't banged it up, I can't bring myself to spend the jack due to style alone.

LOL.
Billy Carter had some dealings with Omar Khaddafi in Libya. Bob Hope had a line that "the main difference between Jimmy Carter and his brother was that Billy had a foreign policy."

How many miles per sixpack does it get?

That's a Super-Yooper Subie Snowplow. Yooper is pretty darned close to redneck, for sure, but Bubba don't do no Subaru.

"Redneck treehouse."
Looks more like a dee-luxe deerstand to me.

"Does it run on peanut oil?" It could. Otto Diesel's original vehicle ran on peanut oil. But I don't think Billy's truck is a diesel.
