I started saving it for a friend that I thought I would see again, after I found it still in the back of my fridge in 1980. I kept it for a number of years thinking that I had heard that the can is worth more to a collector un-opened and that the beer would survive corrosive spoilage if refrigerated.. That friend died in the 90s before I ever got to see him and give it to him and I have just kept it in there, since I have only moved once in the last 22 years. Actually, the inexpensive refrigerator is from the same 70s era as well. Even though I want a new one, since the old Roper won't die and I haven't banged it up, I can't bring myself to spend the jack due to style alone.
I'm getting older, and my memory isn't as good as it used to be, but I can still remember waaaay back...in fact, I can recall the days when Jimmy used to be considered a good ex-president.
If I had a six-pack of Billy Beer, I'd be saving it now to drink during Jimmy's state funeral. I hope he lives a long life, because he's an embarrassment to the Rats as long as he's still walking and talking.
