"There are just no words."

I've never forgiven the media for showing the videos of our dead soldiers being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Every mother, father, wife, etc., was probably wondering if it was their child who was the one being dragged. I never saw anything so reprehensible and irresponsible in my whole life.

...as the military said it killed 15 insurgents but Iraqi police and a rights activist claimed they were ordinary poultry farm workers.

They couldn't even make it past the first sentence before lobbing this little tidbit out.

Disgusting.

Let's hear Murtha and the Gitmo critics complain now.

You will. You absolutely will. If you think for a moment that this will provide Murtha-Sheehan Inc. with anything other than more batteries for their psychotic megaphone then I've got some Ruby Slippers to sell you.

In fact, let me get out on a limb and predict Murtha's exact words that we will here at least by Sunday Talk Show time: "This tragedy with the two GIs shows the desperation we're causing the insurgents. What can we expect them to do when they see us there on patrol everyday rather than in Okinawa where our soldiers and Marines belong."

BAGHDAD, Iraq - An Iraqi military official said Tuesday that the bodies of two missing U.S. soldiers showed signs of torture, and that men appeared to have been killed "in a barbaric way." Also, the umbrella group for Iraqi insurgents claimed responsibility for the soldiers' deaths. "We give the good news ... to the Islamic nation that we have carried God's verdict by slaughtering the two captured crusaders," said a statement in the name of the Mujahedeen Shura Council, which groups five insurgent organizations including al-Qaida in Iraq. At a news briefing, U.S. Maj. Gen. William Caldwell declined to identify...

Was Murtha on Saddam's payroll? Sure seems like it.

" I wonder if the treatment of these two soldiers is a result of that campaign."

Doubtful. Terrorists don't show mercy. Also yesterday, a homocide bomber killed something like 18 people in a home for the elderly. Where was the mercy?

God forgive me, but my hatred for those depraved animals and their sick religion is almost more than I can bear. They are the curse of humanity.

Islam is a disease that must be eradicated -- utterly and to a person -- from the planet Earth.

Woud you rather those "chiren" grow up to be terrorists themselves? Do you want them all nuked, including Iraqis fighting terrorists to the death in order to help secure their own freedom? That's as bad as blaming Bush for not moving soon enough and accusing the US of having no plan to retrive soldiers.

Spokesmen for the Red Cross, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, UN Committee on something or other, etc will all be issuing statements of condemnation of the treatment of captured American forces .... soon?

That was unforgettable.

It's hard for me to know how these moments should be handled by the media. We know a "picture is worth a thousand words"...without visual impact there's not as much public outcry- resulting in pressure being put on those in power to DO SOMETHING. On the other hand- the exploitation of our beloved soldiers in death is vile.

What I HATE is the nearly gleeful attitude the media shows when they tell/show us these things...

Aah, the Roman solution, very effective, I agree.

Well, modified a bit: I wouldn't kill all the men and boys - only those who adided the insurgents. And, I wouldn't sell the women and children into slavery, just disperse them. I'd even let families who weren't involved in the insurgency reunite, anywhere else in Iraq. But, I would absolutely raze the town and salt the earth.

We should have practiced scorched earth tactics on the muzzies as soon as possible. The minute pictures of burnt US contractors hanging from the bridge in Fallujah went out across the wire, they should have been followed by pictures of a smoking crater where that craphole used to be.

I supported war in Iraq, but only because I thought our leadership had the guts to fight all out. If I had believed that we were going to play Vietnam-style patty-cake with the Islamunists, I wouldn't have backed it. Our pansy-assed handling of worthless Iraqi trash, and the way we demoralize our troops Murtha-fashion, have tied our hands in dealing with Iran and North Korea. I doubt we'd have the guts to blow up Pyongyang if they ever lobbed a rocket into our soil, especially if it were an unpopulated Aleutian island.

How many of our soldiers are prisoners?

Answer: Zero.

One -- Matt Maupin.

'..story of three troops being charged with murder....
learning to mute the radio ....'

Our troops being charged with murder makes me sick. Were those who condemn them there when the incident happened? How do they know our troops were not fired upon from the home where "civilians" lived? My understanding is that lying is not against Muslim beliefs. Should we then take the word of Muslims who charge our troops with murder over the word of our soldiers? Our men and women were SENT on a mission by our government, and most, serve proudly. We asked them to capture or kill our enemies. Why are they charged with murder when they are attempting to carry out their mission?

I'm beginning to believe that, rather than muting our TV's and radios, we need to BLAST our government officials with emails and calls, demanding fast action to obtain OBJECTIVE proof of any crimes committed by our soldiers. And, in the absence of such PROOF, demand the immediate release of our soldiers.

God bless our military and their families!
