Yikes..... Connie Chung has gone off the deep end.
Why on Earth would she do this..first that Ann Coulter thing last week and now this...I think she's lost it. It wasn't funny, she can't sing...she couldn't move in that dress...it was a disaster from start to finish.
We know it was a joke. But it was a badly conceived, VERY badly executed joke. What a horrendous singing voice. Apparently the bit was rehearsed, but it was too much bother for her to take a singing lesson. The fact that the woman looks fine is hardly an excuse to make a spectacle of herself on national t.v.
And what about the weird reference to how little she and Maury got paid? Apparently, she was willing to work for low pay because she was desperate to recuscitate her career. Why bring the money up now, even in jest?
BTW, Maury Povich is a man who is willing to make a very good living off of people who are at their lowest point, mentally, morally and emotionally, and willing to demonstrate it to the world. He has no journalistic credibility whatsoever. And yet Connie sings, "My Maury...what a guy!". Yuk.
Here's a little walk down Memory Lane for the schadenfreude in all of us...

Is this Kaplan guy insane, or is he trying to break the record for losing the most money in television?

You know how I know this was a disaster and not at all funny? By the frozen-grimace-trying-to-look-like-a-smile on the piano player's face. If it was going as planned, he would have at least tried to appear genuinely amused.

PM, I'd rather listen to a steel rake dragged over a chalkboard than have to listen to connie read the news let alone sing.

Yeah I laughed if you listen to the lyrics (yes your ears may bleed) she attacks Maury and her previous co-anchors (Dan Rather). So not all bad.
I'll give her a break for a Monday morning laugh.
Welll ----- Now people are going to remember Connie Chung for something! Certainly not that disasterous 'cutsie hubby/honey' act that was cancelled.
Maybe she is setting herself up for a new career? LOL!

I'm a piano player, and I don't believe he did. I admit though, I wasn't really watching him.
That brings something else to mind...why couldn't we hear the background music that she was singing to? Almost anybody sounds awful with no music.

Man... the late avante-garde filmmaker Luis Bunuel had nothing over the Maury and Connie Show. That finale was about the most surreal thing I've ever seen/heard. The Cringe Meter was through the roof.
The piano player was NOT playing the piano. He never depressed the keys and he moved his hands randomly, so he probably didn't know how to play... another surreal touch. He does deserve some credit for keeping a smile. They probably went without background music since Connie can't sing on pitch.
All in all, not the most graceful exit in TV history. I never saw anyone commit career suicide before.
What a week....
Connie and her former "News" partner, Dan Rather -- both FLUSHED down the toilet - as the turds they were, should be.

Maury Povich may have to do some more explaining to wife Connie Chung. The talk show host, already bruised by an allegation that he cheated with a female "Maury" producer, is now accused of having had a second mistress on the show.
Producer Bianca Nardi, 28, claimed in a $100 million sex-harassment lawsuit filed April 24 that supervisor Donna Ingber subjected her to abuse because Ingber's intimacy with Povich left her immune to discipline.
Nardi is now ready to allege that another woman on the show was competing for Povich's affection, according to a source familiar with Nardi's suit.
"Donna demanded that Maury get rid of her rival - find her another job," the source tells us. "That shows the power Donna had over Maury."
A rep for the alleged second mistress acknowledged the rivalry, but insisted that the woman and Povich "had a completely professional relationship. This is a desperate attempt to revive interest in this case."
Nardi hasn't identified the alleged second mistress - said to be a married mom - in her suit. Nardi's lawyer, Bruce Baron, says his client is not trying to hurt Povich. "She just wants justice," Baron asserts. "And she'll do whatever it takes to get her day in court."
Povich, 67, and Chung, 59, have said nothing about the affair claim, but Ingber's husband has denied it. Povich's rep didn't return a call regarding the latest romance claim, but the rep has denied Nardi's sexual-harassment allegations.
But Annette Coleman, a former hairdresser on the show, corroborates Nardi's harassment claim. Coleman, 42, tells The News' Adam Lisberg that Nardi was "freaking stressed-out" and "crying all the time."
She claims Nardi was forced to tape short, sexy bits for the show - including pulling off her shirt for the camera - and flirt with strangers for hidden-camera segments on "Maury."
