>>What Ann wrote about the so-called "Jersey Girls," and not all the other 9/11 widows in "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," was "these self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them, The whole nation was wounded, all our lives were reduced. But they believed the entire country was required to marinate in their exquisite personal agony. Apparently denouncing Bush was an important part of their closure process. These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzies. I've never seen people enjoying their husband's deaths so much."

It is this one single paragraph in 310 pages of carefully documented facts that devastate the sacred tenets of the church of liberalism that the liberals and their media allies have seized upon to characterize a very serious book about very serious matters. What did Coulter really say about the other 9/11 widows?

Ann addressed the matter of the hundreds of other 9/11 widows - lines in her book her liberal critics carefully ignore.

She wrote: "A lot of widows support Bush - a lot support Pat Buchanan. But they were not trying to convert their personal tragedy into a weapon to dictate national policy or redesign lower Manhattan. None of the weeping widows issuing demands, I note, were firemen's wives," Coulter observed.

"And how about we hear from some wives of proud fighting Marines? While the professional 9/11 victims turned themselves into the arbiters of what anyone could say about 9/11, some poor woman in Astoria, Queens, was being told her husband died in a car accident. She won't be paid millions of dollars, feted in Vanity Fair, or granted federal commissions to investigate why her husband died." <<

Ann Coulter should know that NewsWeek has no obligation to the truth anymore than the rest of the Leftwing-Liberal Mass Media .

But she did give an interview to NewsWeek magazine a year or so ago and liked the article, but not the front page photo of her, which was distorted !

She should sue NEWSWEEK to demand a correction !

So the lie is "enjoyed" versus "enjoying?"

Here is Newsweek describing Ann Coulter as saying '9/11 widows enjoyed their [husbands'] deaths.' That is simply a lie . . . That is a lie

Could you please explain to me how else I am supposed to interpret (exact quote), "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' death so much"?

Ironic that she had to read it in a Waiting Room, the only place you can find those relics.

The Jersey Girls reminds me of the movie Danny Deckchair where he leaves his live-in girlfriend Trudy Dunphy (JUSTINE CLARKE)by hooking up balloons to a deck chair. The results take him cross country and the ex-girlfriend rising up to celebrity status as the victim of a missing person. This celebrity status is what the Jersey Girls have used for their maximum advantage.

The "Jersey Girls" in a nutshell.

She should have said "enjoying the spotlight in the aftermath of their husband's deaths."

Coulter Wrestling

That appears to be the activity of every single coulter post now. I find it very useless, and would much rather discuss the relative merits of what Ann's points were, rather than mincing her words to determine if she was nice enough.

If I may paraphrase some of the general arguments from conservatives against Ann:

She is not nice. She has attacked some grief stricken 9/11 widows, which is not proper no matter what they are saying.

She does not always say the exact truth in her books and statements. We have reviewed every word and we found some things that we don't believe are true. Therefore, anything she says should not be considered.

She is so mean that we as conservatives think that she does not do the conservative message a service by speaking about them. Since she is a net-negative, better to fight all of those who support her, regardless of the bigger points she is making.

In my opinion, all of these arguments are simply ways to stop discussing anything else she is saying. Do those of you who don't like Ann agree or disagree with here larger points? Many of her points are not being made by many other people. The Jersey girls are not the only examples of the main point of that paragraph. Look at Murtha for instance. If you respond and disagree with Ann, please answer whether you think it's OK to criticize them or not.

And why do Ann's defenders continue to take the bait? Mincing words is exactly what Ann has been finding the many libs interviewing her so far. What does "is" really mean?

What about the church of liberalism?

I have been a widower for four years and seven months. Are any of the Jersey girls worth porking? I know Ann Coulter would be worth having her at one's side.

I would like to see the article in question myself to determine what it said exactly. Or am I supposed to take Coulter's words as gospel now?

Every ABC radio news report i heard said Ann slandered 911 widows. They never mentioned the Jersey Hags, just a blanket use of widows.

I was chastized by some smarmy SOB (darkmeat... something, IIRC) on this forum for suggesting that Ann was inferring the definition shown in the dictionary -

enjoy
2. To have the use or benefit of: enjoys good health.

I don't think there can be any doubt that is her intent and is certainly born out by their actions!

I was waiting to respond to him until I was able to read the comment in full context.
