Ann Coulter: Newsweek Lied - -Newsweek lied, the Truth dies !

The left-leaning Newsweek magazine lied about what she wrote in her book, an indignant Ann Coulter said during an appearance on Thursday night's Hannity & Colmes show on Fox News Channel.

"I'm sitting in a Fox studio in L.A.," Coulter said. "I don't know why there's a copy of Newsweek here rather than Human Events. Here is Newsweek describing Ann Coulter as saying '9/11 widows enjoyed their [husbands'] deaths.' That is simply a lie . . . That is a lie. If you can't deal with the facts and you refuse to say what the argument is, I think that's a total lack of confidence in your position and it certainly shows a complete lack of understanding [that] Americans can find out the truth these days - that it's not the mainstream media monopoly it was 10 years ago."

Yes, insult me and then you won't have to examine your own thinking in this matter. I know it can be painful to do so.

Yes, reading the entire Newsweek article would be necessary to determine whether they had really lied. I trust you did so?

No, it could easily be clever writing to get obvious licks in while maintaining plausible deniability.

You read the article? The whole article, not what others have said about the article? Because all of the articles on the topic that I've read specify in the body who Ann Coulter was talking about and say something about why.

Could you please explain to me how else I am supposed to interpret (exact quote), "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' death so much"?

I very much question both your consistency as well as your 800 SAT reading comprehension score.
To say nothing of organized logical thinking.

A sloppy headline does not make a lie

Let's say I go to a local store and the owner is always giving me the wrong amount of change. Sometimes it is not enough change and sometimes it is too much. I'd suspect he is not too good at math. Now suppose he is always shortchanging me. I'd suspect he is a crook. Sloppy headlines always seem to error in a liberal way.

Time to take your senility medication lady.
I don't need to read anything to comment on what you've said in this thread.

Have a nice day.

Absolutely!

This is the most tedious thread ever posted. I would expect to find something of this caliber on the DU.

President Bill Clinton shredded our Constitution when he bombed the Hell out of Serbia in violation of the War Powers Resolution, which limits military actions sans an authorization from Congress, to a 60 day limits !

And what about that Liberal Fascist Janet Reno who slautered all those American Citizens at WACO ?

Liberals, Leftist, Democrats, and these animals in Nuke York City do not give a damn when our rights are violated !

No, I have not read the Newsweek article. I was critiquing your witty summation down to an oversimplified "enjoyed" vs. "enjoying"

Wow, little did I realize how easy it is to trigger so much hate here. I'm amused to find out that I'm prematurely senile, barely have a third grade education, am illiterate, am illogical, am inconsistent, and throw grade school insults (hmm, let's re-read this thread. . .)

It's a good thing I am quite confident of my own abilities based upon my evaluation of myself, the evaluation of my peers and superiors, and upon my performance on a variety of standardized tests through the years.

Go ahead, hit me again, I can take it. :-D

So the lie is "enjoyed" versus "enjoying?"

If someone continues a particular behavior, it must be that there is some reward fro them in doing so.

Did the "Jersey Girls" enjoy the deaths of their husbands, No. Did they their celebrity victim to appoint themselves as THE spokepeople for the 911 families, Yes. That and they went overtly political.

And their celebrity and exposure grew because the left and the media were so willing to push them out front. It wasn't that the 911 Commission filled a total void, there were investigations. And the 911 Commission was flawed the second Jamie Gorelick sat her ass in a chair on the wrong side of the table. And it was oh so political by way of Kerrey and Hamiltion playing games. Both demended a Presidential sit down and claimed it to be oh so necessary, yet both failed to stay for the whole time. One went to a fundraising meeting and the other to introduce a lunch speaker. Hey Kerrey and hamilton, did't you believe your own BS? Next time at least act as if you do.

One thing I noticed long before 911 about relatives of victims was how the media and Hollywood made saints out of them to make a buck off of them. The relative of a victim becomes a tireless underdog crusader, who ultimately wins and it becomes a rich and rewarding career. I'm not saying John Walsh planned it, but he's an example. Watch a few Lifetime movies and you'll recognize the pattern.

I didn't defend Clinton, I was pointing out the not so subtle anti-semitic undertone of that quote. Is Ann anti-semitic, don't think so, but I think that sometimes her mouth and typewriter work faster than her brain.

Usually they err in an amusing nonsensical way. My favorite ran something like, "Falling Turkey Hits Man Shot by Son!"

Jay Leno has some books that are just collections of ridiculous headlines. I don't think much of his show but the books are hilarious!

"reading the entire Newsweek article would be necessary to determine whether they had really lied"

Why?

How can reading the rest of the article help? In less they qualified their earlier statement? I have never seen an MSM article writen in that way and i don't believe they will start today.
