French communists end relations with Russian Communist Party because of gay scandal
09.06.2006 Source:
The world communist movement is currently facing a major scandal. The relations between the Russian and the French communist parties have been practically ruined. The reason of the conflict lies in the negative attitude which the leader of the Russian communists, Gennady Zyuganov, expressed against the recent gay pride parade in Moscow.
The outcome of the free love parade in Moscow is history now. Young communists and patriots violently attacked the homosexuals and defamed them. Delegates of the French Communist Party, who took part in all events organized by the Moscow gay movement, did not hesitate to express their reaction to that.
The French communists harshly reproached their Russian colleagues of being homophobic and betraying the Marxism-Leninism ideology. The Socialistic Party of France (the countrys second largest party) supported the communists of France too.
Unlike for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the struggle for social justice implies the protection of class interests, as well as peoples rights and freedoms, including the right to choose a sexual orientation.
That is why the French communists described the Russian Communist Party as a homophobic and anti-communist organization. A member of the political bureau of the French communist organization Richard Sanchez said that they simply could not make up with such an idea. It is nonsense for European communists. Being a communist and a homophobe at the same time is so typical of the Communist Party of Russia, said he.
Another spokesman for the French communist party said that the CPRF was a non-communist party, which still had the communist rhetoric, but betrayed the ideals of Marxism.
The French comrades also criticized Russias communists for their aspiration to form the real opposition in Russia. The Russian Communist Party has actually been the government of the country for almost 80 years. Therefore, they simply do not know what it means to be a real opposition. They think of themselves as the opposition, but they do nothing that an opposition organization would do. Its all about declarations, thats all, Sanchez said. Richard Sanchez thinks that Russia needs to have the real leftist movement, but not the CPRF which views itself as an opposition organization.
The Communist Party of France harshly criticized the long-standing leader of the Russian Communist movement, Gennady Zyuganov. Many in Europe think that he personifies the communist party of the Stalin regime. It is very good for the CRPFs opponents to have Zyuganov in the office as long as possible. As long as such political adversaries exist, everyone can live at their ease, a FCP member said.
The standstill in the Russian communist movement, as FCP believes, has been caused because of the isolationist and totalitarian stance of its leadership. Russian Communist Party may have its future only if new people join it, the people of the new generation. The leadership needs to be changed. We hope that young people will come and join the CPRF in order to change the party from within. Zyuganov must go and make way for young people. However, he will keep the power in his hands until a strong movement stands up against him, Sanchez emphasized.
Furthermore, spokespeople for the French communist organization were shocked to know that the leaders of the Russian Communist Party actively cooperate with Neo-fascists and nationalists. Their contacts with fascist-oriented organizations discredit the party in the eyes of all European communists. It is a grand shame. However, the Russian communists dare to blame us for the betrayal of the communist ideas, one of the FCP delegates said.
Despite such a complicated situation, the FCP spokespeople stated that the parties could still continue to cooperate. However, this cooperation could only be possible when the CPRF has the people who defend liberal values and freedoms. For the time being, the leadership of the French Communist Party can only criticize the CPRF for its homophobic views.
The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Gennady Zyuganov publicly condemned the initiative to hold a gay pride parade in Moscow. He stated that it was an unhealthy idea and refused to comment the critical position of his French colleagues. Zyuganovs press secretary Alexander Yushchenko expressed his bosss attitude on the matter anyway: The French communists can support whoever they want there in France: either homosexuals or onanists, said he.
The remarks from Zyuganovs deputy, Ivan Melnikov, were clearer. The official said that Russia was a country of firm traditions. "Moscow is not Berlin or Paris. Any displays of unconventional sexual orientation look revolting in Russia. The gay parade was originally initiated by a small group of people. They were interested in their own promotion. They probably worked someones investment too, Ivan Melnikov said.
We have quite good relations with the French Communist Party, but we have never touched upon the question of the gay parade in Moscow. We do not know the people who made public statements for the media (FCP member Richard Sanchez). That is why we do not identify their views with the position of the French Communist Party, the official added.
As it can be seen, the leadership of the Russian Communist party decided to ignore the criticism of their French comrades. At least, they tried not to take the incident too seriously.
It is not ruled out that the Central Committee of the French Communist Party may write an open letter to the leadership of their Russian communist organization. The French communists may want to cease all contacts and relations with Russia. The FCP is the stronghold of European communist movement, which means that the conflict may bring serious trouble for the CPRF. It may become a party in disgrace, while the West may finally be convinced of the anti-communist essence of the Russian Communist Party and its leader Gennady Zyuganov.
Mexico was never in question, and any comparsion with that country is a red herring.
LOL.

What a hoot. Not much in politics is funny. This is.

OK, lemme take a shot here. The Russian reaction of the Communists, by any definition of totalitarian Communism, is justified.
The people are subjects of the state with any institutionalized Communist rule. Being so, and with the understanding that homosexuality is a "chosen behavior", said choice and behavior becomes subject to the collective wisdom of the government and therefore can be "modified".
The Communists, in this case, recognize the dire health threat that homosexuality brings to any community. The drain of the people's resources in order to combat the onslaught of behaviorally based spread of plagues is unacceptable. Therefore it becomes the responsibility of the Communist ruling collective to address the threat and "moderate" it in the manner they see fit.
As in the days of Stalin, this would either involve pogroms or simple "misplacement".
And if anyone believes that modern liberals wouldn't justify this approach if they seized absolute power, they are insane. Homosexuality is simply a tool to them to debase and destroy a society so that it is too weak to morally confront the evils of Communism. Once those useful idiots have served their purpose, they are disposed of as are all outdated tools.
Anyway, have a nice day, y'all...
I suspected as much. Thanks for clarifying.
The Polish people are the most conservative in Europe, even more so than the British.
The Chinese Communist Party, the Cuban Communist Party, Hugo Chavez's Venezuela, and most other second and third world communist parties and dictators frown upon or even ban homosexuality, and where in power kill them.
Don't tell the lefties what Saddam Hussein did to gays, or the Iranians do to them now. It would drive them nuts.
I got it from Agnes,
She got it from Jim.
We all agree it must have been
Louise who gave it to him.
She got it from Harry,
Who got it from Marie,
And everybody knows that Marie...
Got it from me.
Giles got it from Daphne,
She got it from Joan,
Who picked it up in County Cork,
A-kissin' the Blarney Stone.
Pierre gave it to Sheila,
Who must have brought it there.
He got it from Francois and Jacques...
Haha, Lucky Pierre!
Max got it from Edith,
Who gets it every spring.
She got it from her Daddy,
Who just gives her everything.
She then gave it to Daniel,
Whose spaniel has it now.
Our dentist even got it,
And we're still wondering how.
Ah, but I got it from Agnes,
Or maybe it was Sue,
Or Millie or Billie or Gillie or Willie,
It doesn't matter who.
It might have been at the club,
Or at the pub, or in the loo,
And if you will be my friend,
Then I might...(Mind you, I said "might")...
Give it to you!

Tell me about it! The day we arrived in Warsaw (our first stop on a 6-city blitz-tour), we were informed that Pope Benedict was also in town. While it was mildly cool that he was there, we didn't think it'd impact us all that screamin' much (we're not Roman Catholic). Wrong! When the Holy Father visits a Polish city, the city goes completely, utterly, and inexorably DRY until midnight of the day he leaves! Thankfully, we are in the habit of carrying our own bottle on such ventures (and for just such eventualities).
Oh, yeah, he also showed up in Krakow a day before we did, too. Luckily, we'd had a chance to restock before we left Warsaw.

That is a baseless comment. 40% of the Polish according to a poll conducted by the OBOP would rather live in Poland during the 1970s and 1980s than today. Morever, 45% rightfully felt that the conditions of the country deteriorated following the seizure of power by the counter-revolutionary CIA puppet Lech Walesa. And... is it just me, or is the idea of being a Communist a little...you know, discredited?
That is preposterous statement that you probably picked up from some imperialist outlet. Russia, China, Yugoslavia, Romania, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and others made tremendous progress when governed by Marxist-Leninist parties. Infant mortality in Russia sagged from about 275/1000 in 1913 to about 23/1000 in 1970. Life expectancy during Stalin increased from about 45 in 1925 to about 66 in 1956. The literacy rate in China went from about 15% in 1950 to over 80% in 1976 (the literacy rate has not climbed since 1976.) Russia and China were amazingly vitalized in a matter of a few decades under Communists. Today, there remain influential Communist parties in France, Italy, Portugal, and Czech Republic.
Stalin didn't try hard enough? Ceaucescu slacked off?
Would you care to explain why 60% of Romanians feel that living standards during Ceaucescu were superior to those of today? Or how about the fact that the plurality of Russians feel that Stalin was a great leader despite the ubiquitious anti-Stalin propaganda transmitted through both the USSR and the West?

Sorry, but Rummel's material has long been discredited. The archives have found that 500,000 died in the GULAG during peace time. 700,000 were sentenced to death in 1937-1938; perhaps half of these sentences were actually carried out. In the 1932-1933 famine that resulted primarily from natural factors and during which the Sovet government extensively sent assistance to famine-stricken regions, there were approxmiately 2.3 million deaths in Ukraine, Lower Volga, and the North Caucuses. For sources, consult the works of Stephen Wheatcroft, R.W Davies, J.Arch Getty as well as the Russian authors V.Popov, V.Zemskov, N.Bugai, A.Pilyasov, and I.Batsaev.
100,000,000 dead in the last century, no problem.
This figure has been discredited. Even in the 1940s, the demographer Frank Lorimer found that there were 4.5 million excess deaths in the course of 1926-1939. 50 years later with the archives opened up, his observations have been vindicated. Yet, the authors of the "Black Book of Communism" claim that Stalin alone killed 20 million, one-fifth of the total. Of course, this has been discredited by the archival reports of several authors.
