"The president's post-election drop in popularity was closely linked to frustration among Republican voters with soaring federal spending and failure to make the 2003 tax cut permanent"Amazing. They just continue to ignore the immigration issue.

It's been a bad week for leftwingers and terrorists, but a great week for freedom-loving Americans.
I'm praying that the Iraqis can work out their differences politically and do not succumb to sectarian divisions exploited by the Saddam loyalists.

Plus lets not forget not that long ago we got two great Justices sworn in. That was also a great accomplishment IMO.

WHO'D have thought it possible even a month ago? President Bush is getting his mojo back.Bush didn't do anything different this week than he did the last week. It's not HE who has changed, it's the opinion of those who read the papers, and whose opinion previously was swayed by the journalists who don't like the President. It's just that what he did this past week managed to cut through the cloud of BS usually thrown up by the media.

You know what, my FRiend?? I have made numerous comments on this thread and have not commented on the original post!! Given some of the things I have said here, it could be argued that I am a hypocrite! But.......
Truly a great post that summarizes a great week for a great man and a great country. Despite incessant and contrary efforts from outside and within, it is nice to have some good news. It has invigorated me, for one.

re: "HOW W GOT HIS MOJO BACK; BEHIND BUSH'S GREAT WEEK"
It's Tony Snow's doing - Freeper Extraordinaire!!! Think of all the good things that have happened since Tony arrived on the scene. I'll bet that Tony even personally shook up al-Zarqawi's network so that the arch-terrorist no longer knew how to stay safe and our JDAMs caught up with him. :^)

Lincoln said, "I do not control events, events control me." Every good politician is an opportunist. Like a soldier picking his way through a minefield, all a president can do is to hope theat he won't step on a mine. If he gets through, he's a hero; if not, he's dead meat.

Why Democrats MUST soon change strategy against the Republican Party:
1. Solid evidence of a looming victory in Iraq.
2. A strong economy.

I've got the "dead" Zarqawi photo as my desktop background. Just can't get enough of these photos. It is all so right. And fitting. And just.

I'm all for celebrating success. Bush has been a great war president, in my opinion. I'm glad if he's getting a bump up in the polls. His efforts on Social Security were good too. I'm glad Ann Coulter and others gave him a little "help" with Supreme Court nominees.
We need to keep a close eye on immigration policy. I read that Ted Kennedy screwed things up with a 1965 law on immigration. I'd love to see that repealed.
One man can't do it all, nor should he, even if he is the President. The biggest problem remains the Senate, which remains way too "moderate."
