Remember, the one Bush/Rove trademark is to not to fire till you see the whites of their eyes. Save your powder till it really, really counts.

One week does not a "MoJo" make.

As someone who's entire family has supported and voted for him twice, he is TOTALLY out of touch regarding the borders and the problem of ILLEGAL aliens. I live in NH on the NH, MA border and every day it is being reported that at least 5 to 10 ILLEGAL aliens are being stopped and cited for driving without a license, DWI, driving without insurance, etc... not to mention the more serious felonies they are committing and being incarcerated for. If this is the case here on the tip of the east coast, just imaging how bad it is in Texas, CA, NM, etc... This problem is not going away and president Bush REFUSES to see the threat or deal with the problem. Another issue is gas prices. Because the neither the president nor the Republican controlled house and senate are willing to grow a set of stones and push for a real energy policy: NEW DRILLING, NEW REFINERIES, NEW NUKE PLANTS, over the objections of the democrats and their kook fringe, the American people are going to be paying $3 to $5 dollars a gallon for gas for ever. The price is not going to go down. Then you have the real threat of Iran. They are run by the reincarnation of Hitler and he is hell bent on procuring nukes to destroy Israel and to threaten his neighbors and the USA, all in the name of "allah" (may he rot in hell) and Islam. The only thing that will solve the problem is force of arms... not running to the UN or EU for "sanctions" or incentives. None of the above issues are going to just magically go away... so much for "MoJo", it will be gone in a month or less.

BEHIND BUSH'S GREAT WEEK

It has also been a great week for Iraq.

A welcome event after so very many dark days here.

This is a classic reverse mediabias swing.

Collectively, the MSM has in one week decided Bush is back on top and on the rebound, and that's what they are reporting.

" BEHIND BUSH'S GREAT WEEK "

How can it be a great week if he caved in to the enemy and said Guantanamo should maybe be closed - that it's bad for our (barf) "image" in the (barf) world?

That guy is not the same President he was in 2001. He's talking like a Liberal.

That's a great article.

Anyone that would piss all over it because of illegal speeders deserves no respect.

It amazes me how the MSM (and many of us) forget that GW is an old and talented poker player. He has a poker player mentality.

He does not play bad hands.
When he has a hand - he draws his opponents into the pot.
He studies his opponents.
He never plays his hand early - he lets dealer put the cards on the table.

In other words - he thinks - he strategizes.

History will show that GW played politics strategically - not with day-to-day tactics like Clinton did.

Nothing like having a backbone, working hard, being honest, and staying on track...When the rest of his critics would of quit, President Bush never gave up, and he never gave in. Guess President Bush meant it, when he said,
"We Will Not Tire or Rest Until the War on Terror is Won"

the president's brilliantly conceived and executed trip to Baghdad

I don't get this. I agree that things are looking up for the president, but I don't get the fascination with this trip. In my view, the nature of the trip underlined not so much how well things are going in Iraq, but how dangerous things still are. If things were going great, he wouldn't need to fly in secretly with his staff in flak jackets. It was a good trip, but he's been to Iraq before. I don't see the Iraq trip as a piece of this puzzle.

To me, just my stupid opinion, the reason the president's fortunes are looking up are firstly that arch terrorist Zarqawi is dead. Americans want vengeance done, and Zarq was a nice scalp on the old lodgepole. Second, the immigration debate is pretty much played out. The anti-bush-immigration-plan folks are all cried out. You know how a kid cries and cries and eventually simply runs out of steam and takes a nap? That's the anti-bush-immigration-plan crowd, in my view. Third, the democrats continue to be complete barking moonbats. they are so far divorced from reality that by default bush will do better.

So that's my take. The Iraq trip was fine, but I really don't see it as a huge deal. Maybe it's just me.

I always thought the dems shot their political wad a bit too early, and there was no place for the Pubbies to go but up.

I think there are people who lurk around here, watching and waiting for any positive thread about the President and then pounce with their repetitive and unproductive complaints about the border.

The border is an issue but it's not every issue.
