June 15, 2006 -- WHO'D have thought it possible even a month ago? President Bush is getting his mojo back.
The president just had the best week of his second term, perhaps of his entire presidency - and the end of the investigation of Karl Rove, which would have been the headline grabber not long ago, had little to do with it.
Instead, the president's brilliantly conceived and executed trip to Baghdad - giving exactly the right boost at the right time to new Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki - capped off seven days that included the forming of a full Iraqi Cabinet and the success of the U.S. military in locating, bombing and killing Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the sadistic Jordanian-born insurgency leader that Osama bin Laden once called the "prince of Iraq."
Equally significant, the night Zarqawi died, American forces staged 17 raids on insurgent targets. By Monday, they had launched 140 more. On the day of the president's visit, 75,000 troops fanned out over Baghdad, ordered to clear the Iraqi capital of the violence and anarchy that has plagued it for months.

Remember, the one Bush/Rove trademark is to not to fire till you see the whites of their eyes. Save your powder till it really, really counts.
As someone who's entire family has supported and voted for him twice, he is TOTALLY out of touch regarding the borders and the problem of ILLEGAL aliens. I live in NH on the NH, MA border and every day it is being reported that at least 5 to 10 ILLEGAL aliens are being stopped and cited for driving without a license, DWI, driving without insurance, etc... not to mention the more serious felonies they are committing and being incarcerated for. If this is the case here on the tip of the east coast, just imaging how bad it is in Texas, CA, NM, etc... This problem is not going away and president Bush REFUSES to see the threat or deal with the problem. Another issue is gas prices. Because the neither the president nor the Republican controlled house and senate are willing to grow a set of stones and push for a real energy policy: NEW DRILLING, NEW REFINERIES, NEW NUKE PLANTS, over the objections of the democrats and their kook fringe, the American people are going to be paying $3 to $5 dollars a gallon for gas for ever. The price is not going to go down. Then you have the real threat of Iran. They are run by the reincarnation of Hitler and he is hell bent on procuring nukes to destroy Israel and to threaten his neighbors and the USA, all in the name of "allah" (may he rot in hell) and Islam. The only thing that will solve the problem is force of arms... not running to the UN or EU for "sanctions" or incentives. None of the above issues are going to just magically go away... so much for "MoJo", it will be gone in a month or less.
Beat it you pathetic angry LOSER!
I'm really getting sick and tired of all the petty little snivelers who do nothing more than whine and complain.
Every thread is REALLY about illegal immigration.
I beat him to it: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1649462/posts?page=42#42
I alwayas thought that conservatives were optimists. Either Rush is wrong, or these folks aren't conservative.
It has also been a great week for Iraq.
A welcome event after so very many dark days here.
I expect another couple of fantastic weeks of "mojo" before the 2006 election cycle, no doubt timed just right.
I found this tidbit buried in an article on what was found in Z mans safehouse...some reporter asks the Iraqi National Security guy....how we can trust the info on the laptops and thumbdrives we found in the rubble...and his reply.
When asked how he could be sure the information was authentic, al-Rubaie said "there is nothing more authentic than finding a thumbdrive in his pocket."
Zarqawi had a thumbdrive in his pocket....:-)
Which could contain the mother lode.
Any indication of the national origin of said illegals? Inquiring minds want to know.
You, like the lefties, keep forgetting that Bush isn't running; that his immigration plan is dead anyway; that the key to getting the nuke/ANWAR energy you desire is 2-3 more CONSERVATIVE SENATORS; and that public attitudes toward Iraq and the WoT will provide a necessary margin for increasing the votes in the senate.
The Club for Growth has estimated that we are a HANDFUL of votes away from securing a CONSERVATIVE MAJORITY in the House, which is absolutely huge; and while we are some ways away in the Senate, one or two more conservatives would exert pressure on people like Graham and DeWine to toe the line.
So Bush's "mojo" is extremely important in the bigger picture, and completely irrelevant when it comes to his specific policies.
See my reply to this guy. Bush's "mojo" is both critical in some ways, and irrelevant any more in terms of specific policy agendas.
This is a classic reverse mediabias swing.
Collectively, the MSM has in one week decided Bush is back on top and on the rebound, and that's what they are reporting.
" BEHIND BUSH'S GREAT WEEK "
How can it be a great week if he caved in to the enemy and said Guantanamo should maybe be closed - that it's bad for our (barf) "image" in the (barf) world?
That guy is not the same President he was in 2001. He's talking like a Liberal.
Oh God! ZarkMan's personal pendrive. That has got to be the 'Holy Grail' of intel finds.
Except the ones about illegal immigration. They're really about creation/evolution.
Oh, for Pete's sake, put a sock in it already.
You got SUCKERED in by the MSM. Go read the full context of what he said.
