Was Al-Zarqawi Beaten After Bombing?
CBS/AP ^ | June 10, 2006

Posted on 06/10/2006 10:32:23 AM PDT by Lacey

CBS/AP) An Iraqi man who was one of the first people on the scene of the U.S. airstrike targeting Abu Musab al-Zarqawi said he saw American troops beating a man who had a beard like the al Qaeda leader.

The witness, who lives near the house where al-Zarqawi spent his last days, said he saw the man lying on the ground near an irrigation canal. He was badly wounded but still alive, the man told Associated Press Television News.

U.S. troops arriving on the scene wrapped the man's head in an Arab robe and began beating him, said the local man, who refused to give his name or show his face to the camera. His account could not be independently verified.

I postulate that the Z-man got Epinephrine, Sodium Pentothal, and a cranial shunt. When he went non-responsive, it is likely that opiates were delivered. Time was not wasted, since there were likely other survivors. Hence the information transfer. But what do I know?

I could wish it were true, but it's been stated many times that our guys were NOT the first to arrive.
He died before our guys got there.

What the Iraqi soldiers may have done, who knows?
Maybe they whupped his ass with their shoes to show their contempt, if so, good for them.
Since we now supply them with uniforms that match ours (is that REALLY a good idea in the long term?) anything they may have done might be mistaken for our guys.
But I doubt this claim has any factual basis at all.

As to disposing of the body, I want his head kept in a jar, and his body disposed of at sea, so that it can never be turned into a terror shrine.

Is it just me but aren't these new Iraq soldiers starting to look like American soldiers. By that I mean more professional...clean shaven, etc.

" His account could not be independently verified. "

Yet they can't wait to get it "on the news" as quickly as possible.

It is so easy to see through this .....

Nobody will say who got the dying quiver. Murtha and crowd will try to blame the USA first. Some information just will never see the light of day. As it should be.

A statement from a man who housed Zarqawi holds no weight with me.

The man was aiding a terrorist and should be arrested.

So....did those soldiers perform an environmental impact study *before* they disturbed the native flora and fauna by ramming that invasive pole into Gaia's tender flesh?

It was Jack Bauer. You know he won't let a little thing like having just survived a bomb bast get in the way of info retrieval.

un frickin believable....

was Hitler hurt before he was burned, ...the libs are the enemy.

I quit trying to talk rationally to them about 4 years ago and it's helped my blood pressure as well as my attitude.

when somebody posts, someone at a party yaps about Boosh and WMD's, I just go off on them. Call them like I see them and don't pussy foot anymore.

CBS or whoever made the comments or question need to be flamed. Sponsors of the a-hole that made the comments need to be punished monetarily. That's the only thing libs love more than "feeling superior"... they like money, especially if they don't have to work for it....

Also factor clans and tribes into how truth/rumor/myth are dealt with. Your truth just might be very dependent on where your clan stands politically. Strong clans and a feeble media makes for news via rumor mongering

Obviously what happened to Al-Zarqawi after the bombs hit was more like this:

The Dead Collector: Bring out yer dead.
[a man puts a body on the cart]
Large Man with Dead Body: Here's one.
The Dead Collector: That'll be ninepence.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not dead.
The Dead Collector: What?
Large Man with Dead Body: Nothing. There's your ninepence.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not dead.
The Dead Collector: 'Ere, he says he's not dead.
Large Man with Dead Body: Yes he is.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not.
The Dead Collector: He isn't.
Large Man with Dead Body: Well, he will be soon, he's very ill.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm getting better.
Large Man with Dead Body: No you're not, you'll be stone dead in a moment.
The Dead Collector: Well, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I don't want to go on the cart.
Large Man with Dead Body: Oh, don't be such a baby.
The Dead Collector: I can't take him.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I feel fine.
Large Man with Dead Body: Oh, do me a favor.
The Dead Collector: I can't.
Large Man with Dead Body: Well, can you hang around for a couple of minutes? He won't be long.
The Dead Collector: I promised I'd be at the Robinsons'. They've lost nine today.
Large Man with Dead Body: Well, when's your next round?
The Dead Collector: Thursday.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I think I'll go for a walk.
Large Man with Dead Body: You're not fooling anyone, you know. Isn't there anything you could do?
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I feel happy. I feel happy.
[the Dead Collector glances up and down the street furtively, then silences the Body with his a whack of his club]
Large Man with Dead Body: Ah, thank you very much.
The Dead Collector: Not at all. See you on Thursday.
Large Man with Dead Body: Right.

Full Disclosure: Tee hee.
