Some Democrats, breaking ranks from their leadership, today said the death of terrorist leader Abu Musab Zarqawi in Iraq was a stunt to divert attention from an unpopular and hopeless war.
"This is just to cover Bush's [rear] so he doesn't have to answer" for Iraqi civilians being killed by the U.S. military and his own sagging poll numbers, said Rep. Pete Stark, California Democrat. "Iraq is still a mess -- get out."

Remember the Salad Days right after 9/11 when Democrats were afraid of being Anti-American? Sigh...the Good Old Days!
You know, that guy looks too much like Professor Aurturo, from "Sliders". You never see those two guys together...
Remember: Itchy the Imam says, "I can tell you what to do because Allah says so, and you'd better do it or you'll burn in hell with the infidels!"
Flags being flown at half mast today at the DNC and their media organ, the NYTimes.
Nope, you didn't miss anything. The headline is very misleading. Bad jounalism is bad journalism, whether committed by those on the left or right.
"...Katie Couric, from sometime around 1955...."
Can't be 1955. I was born in 1955 and KC is two years younger than me. More likely it's around 1974.
"...Now THIS is a stunt! Pay attention, Rep. Stark...."
You mean Stark's jumped the shark?
I can hear the cuckoo singing in the cuckooberry tree...
Out of hundreds of posts, you're the only one to respond to my question. Thank you!
I've seen that headline on other sites and re-read the article and was sure I must be missing something. Even on FNC this morning, they said that Democrats said the killing of Zarqawi was a stunt. Not that I'm a defender of Democrats (LOL) but that's just bad reporting.
Don't know if you saw/heard this on your spinney set.
Ping
Perhaps the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights are just a big, huge, "stunt"?
Yeah, THAT'S the ticket!
NEW HEADLINE:
DEMOCRATS: AMERICA A "STUNT"
Some Democrats, breaking ranks from their leadership, today said that the establishment of the United States of America was a stunt to divert global attention from the spectre of past religious persecution.
"This is just to cover the King's [rear] so he doesn't have to answer" for British citizens having been persecuted and killed for their religion...
I really, really hate it when we sink to the left's level of just making stuff up.
Yipe! The Democrats are taking their talking points from DU. Now, that is frightening!
I'm absolutely amazed and enraged at the incompetence of the RNC in their inability to present the lunatic side of the Dem Party as they really are to the American public. My advice to the RNC is to place these comments by Stark and others in tv ads and put the rhetorical question to the American voter: are these the kind of people you want to elect?
I pull the hair out of my head when I watch the wimpy ads the RNC places. Emphasize the growth of the economy due to tax cuts. Tell the American public about the dangers of Islamo-fascism and how we are defeating it. Talk about morality and the Dem push for homo "marriage". Don't be afraid to call the Dems what they really are. They don't even have to exaggerate. Dems hang themselves with what they do and say every day of the year. Stark's nutjob words are just one example.
well if Osama Bin Laden is captured who will retaliate the hardest against the U.S.?, the Dems or the jihadists around the world?..looks like the Dems will go crazy if Bin Laden bites the dust..
None dare call it treason....it's time we did
That's called liberal logic.
I read somewhere that they wanted him caught not killed.
To them it's all about cut and run.
very very hilarious, excellent!
Stuck on stupid duo!
"Who, really, is surprised? I'm shocked it took some Dems several hours to say such things. They're usually quicker on the draw."
They're a little slower to make statements that reveal them to be traitors in wartime. Consider the two-hour delay as their way of showing respect for the American war effort.
