Grassroots Democrats weighing in on several popular liberal web sites Thursday morning said that they were troubled by reports that al Qaeda's top operational terrorist, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, had been killed in a U.S. air strike.
Reacting to the news, one visitor to the Daily Kos complained that using military force to kill Zarqawi "violates everything my America stands for."
"It violates the rule of law and invokes the rule of force in what should be a criminal, not a military, matter."
Another Daily Kos'er was irked because he thought the news would benefit President Bush:
"No doubt Karl Rove will have the Sock Puppet President acting as if he personally dropped the bomb that killed that jackass," he wrote. "But other than a couple of photo ops of Bush looking cocky, it does nothing because two more tin-plated Zarqawi's will pop up."
A third Kos poster suggested that there was little difference between the top al Qaeda terrorist and the leader of the free world, writing: "Now [that] we are rid of one murderous tyrant - how about the removal of another one-believed hiding in a safe-house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?"
Over at the Democratic Underground, reaction to news of Zarqawi's death was also negative:
"Convenient too that this would happen now," complained one DU'er: "Guess we should just all forget about that Haditha mess, the fact that we are approaching 2,500 dead and the fact that our economy is in big trouble."
Another DU poster said that killing the al Qaeda chief really wasn't such a big deal, insisting: "Zarqawi was a fringe group of al Qaeda, and definitely NOT responsible for the bulk of the insurgency and civil war now occurring in Iraq. Any gains that they hope to receive will be short-lived when reality strikes home."
Has anyone in the Lamestream media or in the Disloyal Opposition complained today that Bush still hasn't got bin Laden? That'll be next!
They're insane. It's always a grand conspiracy involving the evil, evil Republicans, you know. Nothing is ever as it appears.
Nice thing about the ME is they understand the way the wind blows - Zarqawi dead - Iran talking to us behind the door - and it's over. Iraq will come around quickly. And yeah, this will help Bush. Big time.
Absolutely.
Delusional. Psychotic.
Threat of harm to self and others.
Like you I was against going into Iraq as well. It was however, a legal decision and now that we are there we can't just cut and run, and this IS positive news despite the idiots at DU and KOS who don't grasp that.
Come November we must declare "war" on AlQaeda of America...ie the Liberal/Progressive/Democrats/etc
"The Dem's are miffed? You should check out these posts from right here on FR. My favorite so far:
"Big Deal. In WW2 Zarqawi would have been the equivalent of a low end german officer. Our great military has been reduced to chasing and killing radical office clerks.""
The DU/Kos trolls are everywhere.
Sigh.
Just because the terrorists have more melanin than most rich liberals doesn't mean their belief system is superior, in spite of what multiculturalism has led them to believe. We are trying to win this war so that liberty prevails - even the liberty for the left to be as stupid, pompous and inane as they are.

Yeah. The Libelor Dimcrats lost one of their own yesterday. He went where they're going if they don't repent.
It's been a bad couple of weeks for the one issue folks. First the nation wakes up to the threat that exists above our NORTHERN border and now this...
The truth will out, won't it?
"Bush killed Zarqawi just in time to boost the Republicans in the November elections"...
yet?
OK, one more time, you liberal pinhead:
Two major wars on two fronts. A terrorist strike on US soil killing 3000 innocents, because Bill Clinton treated a military problem like a legal one, and because Jamie Gorelick hamstrung our intelligence gathering by severing clear communication between the military, FBI and CIA. The dot com bust destroying any Clinton "economic legacy." A discraced President getting serviced in the Oval Office. And in the face of this, W has overseen the roaring, powerful, amazing recovery of an economy that has created hundreds of thousands of good jobs, cut unemployment below the Clinton-era levels, and steamrolled so hard and fast that they have had to raise interest rates fourteen times just to hold it back. Is that the "economy in big trouble" that you are talking about?
On the other hand, the more exposure these people actually get, the more the American people will reject them.
"The Matrix has you, Neo."

Rule of law? Who's law? Islamic law? Iraqi law? US law?
Zarqawi was an outlaw. He died as one. I guess it would be wrong to sift through the rubble for more terrorist names. That is an invasion of privacy. < /sarc >

Oh yes.
The RATS are busy doing what they usually do in election years, lead in the MSM "polls" most of the year, and lose in the only poll that matters in November. :)
The radical, extremist Left wingers posting on Dailey K-Os and DU are ALL a few bricks short of a load. I guess you have to expect that though. They all evolved from monkeys.
