Iraqi PM: Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi Killed

By PATRICK QUINN

BAGHDAD, Iraq Jun 8, 2006 (AP)— Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the al-Qaida-linked militant who led a bloody campaign of suicide bombings, kidnappings and hostage beheadings in Iraq, has been killed in a U.S. air raid north of Baghdad, Iraq's prime minister said Thursday.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said al-Zarqawi was killed Wednesday evening along with seven aides.

I'm not a nurse nor a doctor (and I don't play one on TV, either, hehe), but my guess is that the Z'ster didn't die immediately. Rather, he probably suffered (but not enough) internal trauma from the concussion blast which terminated him with extreme prejudice after a few minutes.

I hope the bastard got to see the faces of the Iraqis laughing at him before he took his trip to hell.

Don't forget the USAF was part of the operation to rain down fire upon their pathetic empty al Qaeda heads.

D-Day = June 6, 1944

Z-Day = June 7, 2006

Thanks much for the info, I figured he'd put his defeatist spin on it some way. Traitor is to good a word to define him.

Won't be too long before they claim Zarqawi worked for Haliburton.

They're STILL running stories about the California Congressional Race?

Nice analogy. The media all but ignored the D-Day anniversary. They were too focused on the 6-6-06 angle.

Call for instant withdrawl........ that is what their loons are telling them to say.

Well, I've already heard that, not from any Dems in power, but from a few working stiffs like me. They seem to think the war is over and it's time to bring the men and women home. Not by a longshot.

I haven't really heard a lot from ranking Dems. Most curious to hear Senator Leiberman's remarks, but even his website did not have a message. I would think though that his message will be a good one and bear no resemblance to the bleetings of the ultra libs.

They probably would have said the same thing about the Americans shooting down Yamamoto.

[Murtha] was kind of laudatory at first about this turn of events, but had to get in his digs about how critical it is that Bush use diplomacy to resolve this war

Uh, yeah. Diplomacy and a couple of well placed bombs will do wonders.

Who exactly are we supposed to be diplomatic WITH? Osama Bin Laden? Is Murtha angling for the job of Ambassador to Al Qaeda?

Except that there already IS a Socialist Party, and they're honest enough to admit that right up front. The Dems aren't.

Thanks. I was appalled at the lack of programming on D-Day on June 6th. I wrote my son basically the same thing as you, that the media was too busy with The Omen and 6/6/06 to even think that the date might hold some other importance. Pathetic.

Might I add to the discussion:

What a poignant day for the USS Cole to set sail for the Middle East.

To the families of all who have sacrificed their lives for The United States of America:

We will never, ever forget the price of our freedom; the blood shed for each and everyone of us is the most selfless act anyone can give us. May God bless each and every one.

I hope you bought property there a long time ago.

We had quite fortuitous timing. We bought in 2001 at about half what the house would cost today.

The only seem to care about anniversaries when they have a nice round number.
