Al Gore has made his sharpest attack yet on the George Bush presidency, describing the current US administration as "a renegade band of rightwing extremists".
In an interview with the Guardian today, the former vice-president calls himself a "recovering politician", but launches into the political fray more explicitly than he has previously done during his high-profile campaigning on the threat of global warming.
Denying that his politics have shifted to the left since he lost the court battle for the 2000 election, Mr Gore says: "If you have a renegade band of rightwing extremists who get hold of power, the whole thing goes to the right."

Yeah, it's not like AlGore ever called anyone an "extremist"... except for the two million times in the 2000 presidential race.
...if only
There was a time when I said that the only way to destroy these FAKE Liberals was to become what they pretend to be. And that we need to steal all the Meat off of their pandering table so that they have nothing left to promise (then fail to deliver). And now look what we have done!
Bush a Right Winger? Bush is Liberal!
He's just not one of thee (fake) Liberals. Bush is Liberal! But he's not one of the Political Liberals. Bush is a good Liberal, and Gore is a Extremist Liberal weirdo who calls those who dissagree with him 'Digital Brownshirts'.
I pray that Gore gets the Demo Nomination!
No, but he played one on TV.
He's running for president in 2008. No question.
No, but he played one on TV.
Which he invented.
Someone needs to come out and destroy this guy in a debate. Preferably the Republican nominee. But we all know almost NONE of them have the guts to do that. Even the real Conservatives mentioned for the 2008 ticket will not challenge the false consensus on global warming. Dennis Prager did a great job of exposing Gore on Friday's broadcast, but can we count on anyone with a 'R' at the end of their name to do the same? I can do it, but I'm not running for anything, except the toilet, in about 20 minutes, ETD (estimated time of detonation).
Actually, his parents just needed a rubber.
Cute puppy.
Everytime I see that I can't stop laughing.
Gore couldn't even win his home state.
He's still spitting chads!
LOL
Oh, I hope you're right. Gore, Hillary, Kerry, Clark, and a bunch of other looney-tunes will be hours and HOURS of entertainment.
---this guy is truely unhinged..he needs a rubber room!---
That's what you and I think. The libs say, "Why couldn't he have shown that kind of passion during the election?"
I've heard it with my own ears.
How could such a pretty gal as is Karenna have come forth from his loins?
