Gore: Bush is 'renegade rightwing extremist'

Al Gore has made his sharpest attack yet on the George Bush presidency, describing the current US administration as "a renegade band of rightwing extremists".

In an interview with the Guardian today, the former vice-president calls himself a "recovering politician", but launches into the political fray more explicitly than he has previously done during his high-profile campaigning on the threat of global warming.

Denying that his politics have shifted to the left since he lost the court battle for the 2000 election, Mr Gore says: "If you have a renegade band of rightwing extremists who get hold of power, the whole thing goes to the right."

Gore: Bush is 'renegade rightwing extremist'

The rhetoric since Bush came in--actually, since Reagan--is just so ridiculously over the top. I blame politics as much as TV for this kind of silliness.

If I was ever at a Q & A for Gore's stupidass movie, I'd mention this and say "You politicians are always talking about leadership, but you keep up with this silly rhetoric because 'everyone else does it'. I know there is no controlling legal authority for good manners, but can't you be a man and engage in political debate without the heated rhetoric? I'll make it simple, Mr. Gore, grow up."

Wasn't Gore considered somewhat of a conservative, in Democratic circles, when he was a senator?

Get over it Al. Bush ain't runing again, even though your party acts as though he is. And if he was, you'd lose again. Especially since you've made such a fool of yourself since your humiliating loss in 2000.

Al Gore, Hugo Chavez, and Mahmoud Iamjihadmadman are currently in the "who can be the biggest loudmouth dumbass" contest. Its still too close to call right now.
