What follows is a listing of the Senators who voted AGAINST the S. 2611 amnesty bill. I have expanded the list to include each Senator's comments specific to the legislation, where available, and listed the link to their e-mail address or contact form.
I have now sent a message of "Thank You" and support to each one. I hope many of you will want to do the same in greater of lesser degree, perhaps contacting only your own Senator and a few others, hopefully all. I tried to make it *easy* for you.
WHY DO SO? Many of these Senators will be in 'conference' with House members and need to know they did the right thing and please continue. 'Thank You' is an affirmation to all that they did the right thing if and when similarly unacceptable legislation returns to the Senate for a vote.
Or, please add your thoughts of why this is a good action.
Just Piper has researched and compiled similar information on members of the House Immigration Caucus, for which I hope she will create a thread also when we know who will be conferees.

Good for Santorum. He did the right thing.
My question is if he did it out of conviction or just because he is in deep trouble this time and the wrong vote here could totally sink him.
Either way, thanks for voting the right way.

Vitter is the first Republican in the Senate since before the Civil War, right?

Thank you for posting this. I am going to write to each one and thank him for listening to what the American people want!

Sen. Allen:
"If the U.S. Government rewards illegal behavior with amnesty, we'll get more illegal behavior."What is so hard about this to understand? Oh, yeah, it's common sense-something some politicians are unfamiliar with.

The United States Senators, both Republican and Democrat, who voted for the passage of CIRA proved to be extremely short sighted to the potential consequences of their actions. If this bill is allowed to pass through conference the future of the United States will be a bleak one. The Senate when they passed this bill put the special interests of the corporations ahead of the special interests of the citizens of the United States. That is why the pressure must be placed on the House leadership and on the members of the conference committee to stop this bill dead in its tracks. The House pick up the mantle of leadership and must correct the egregious errors of the Senate by passing CIRA.
I cannot single out a single senator because the ones who voted for CIRA because they performed poorly and failed to uphold their oaths to the Constitution. It is probably the worst bipartisan bill to come out of the United States Senate in the history of our great Republic.

Lil Debbie Stabemall the rat is up for reelection in Michigan. Since the Michigan GOP is as incompetent as can be, she probably doesn't have much to worry about, but her no vote was to make sure they didn't wake up and actually campaign against her on that issue.

With all due respect to Sen. Vitter, when they (Senators) talk, it costs me money. In the big house on Capitol Hill, talk is never "cheap."
To: RushLake
Stabbemnow and other DUmocrats/RINOs who voted for amnesty have just created a campaign ad for their opponent, regardless of party.

Thank you. Your post is one of the most informative that I have experienced in recent times. Collectively the Senators voting against the measure quoted facts; their statements made sense; they did not lambast the opposition; they did not try to put words in our mouths (thus kept my blood pressure down); they did not preach hate; in general they sounded like even-handed Statesmen, and the kind of Senators we deserve.
