What follows is a listing of the Senators who voted AGAINST the S. 2611 amnesty bill. I have expanded the list to include each Senator's comments specific to the legislation, where available, and listed the link to their e-mail address or contact form.
I have now sent a message of "Thank You" and support to each one. I hope many of you will want to do the same in greater of lesser degree, perhaps contacting only your own Senator and a few others, hopefully all. I tried to make it *easy* for you.
WHY DO SO? Many of these Senators will be in 'conference' with House members and need to know they did the right thing and please continue. 'Thank You' is an affirmation to all that they did the right thing if and when similarly unacceptable legislation returns to the Senate for a vote.
Or, please add your thoughts of why this is a good action.
Just Piper has researched and compiled similar information on members of the House Immigration Caucus, for which I hope she will create a thread also when we know who will be conferees.
Amen.
The 'conferencing' phase will be crucial.
My guess is that conferees will be named by Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Hastert will be pressured to choose 'juries' favorable to the CIRA, S. 2611, rather than HR 4437. We need to counteract that by letting him know what we want.
Supposedly, the House can refuse to go to conference, but don't know how that works. I believe the pressure is tremendous to produce legislation.
You are right, though. We are not alone. Keep a sharp eye out for allies.
Allen has been on my radar screen for a year or so now...McCain got cancelled for a Bilbray event in the morning in SD due to this issue alone...good for him. This bill is McLame's death wish...he done.
Thanks...you made it nice and easy to send off a thank you email...
I went back over LaDita's research and realised I was on a completely different page, my bad and serious apologies are in order. I thought some research I had done was combined in all of Dita's hardwork and I obviously was very confused, because all of this is LaDita's hard work, not one minute or word is mine. I know how it feels for someone to take what's yours and claim they had a hand in it. I wanted to clear this up.
I think I need to clear my head and stick to what I know and not try to plagarize a dear friend. But I can assure you that was not my intention whatsoever.
That all said I would like to tell LaEchiladita that she has made an enormous effort here and everyone is correct with their compliments. We are lucky to have you put it all in one place.
~Thank You!
LOL, whatta picture. At least it gives him 'highwater' pants to avoid those spewing smileys you and Smartass are posting! YUK!
All's well that ends well.
We have our work cut out for us as the 'conference' approaches.
Oh, and thanks for bumping the thread.
:)
Thanks for that link.
There is plenty of wrong actions on a lot of other issues that make me question his 'conservatism'.
He's every bit as 'compassionate' as Bush and he votes and spends to prove it.
I went ahead and emailed everyone of the Senators posted and hope that helps.
Where is the list of Senators and Representatives for the conference committee.
The Senate conferees have been selected from the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. The list was posted earlier by Kimberly GG, but post (#31) disappeared. IIRC, the Republicans going to conference are Kyl, Cornyn, Grassley, Hatch and Sessions. Do not recall who Dems are.
The House conferees have not been chosen yet; we will know by mid-next week soonest.
Now we have to put some muscle on the open borders members of the House of Representatives and let them know they can be easily replaced by some real Americans.
Any politician voting for this treasonous devil's deal needs to be booted out ASAP, and hopefully the first Mexican President of the United States will have the decency to resign.
One thing that SHOULD come from this:
The Republicans in the Senate SHOULD replace Frist as majority leader, who is nothing more than the WH laison.
Overall I recall Lott was MORE effective, whatever his weaknesses were.
Not saying Lott should be the majority leader, but some excellent candidates are on this list.
Sessions strikes me at the top, plus a few others.
The guy is such a narcissist, he probably thinks we're all going to love him in spite of what he does. I can't stand him.
My Senator! He is truly a great man...I have always admired him and his stance on all things political.

That was the idea. Thank you.
Smartass, did you notice that this thread is about the Senators that voted AGAINST S. 2611, against amnesty, and about supporting them?
