The puff piece starts out: “John Kerry starts by showing the entry in a log he kept from 1969: “Feb 12: 0800 run to Cambodia.” Right off the bat, this is the first piece where the Swift Boat Vets were 100% correct. At the time, John Kerry stated that his trip took place on Christmas Eve in 1968. The SBV were right at the time, he was NOT iN Cambodia on Christmas Eve of 1968. Kerry had said that this moment was “seared” into him. After the Vets came out, Kerry had his personal biographer come out and it changed to “sometime in January.” Apparently all along it had been February 12, 1969. (And he has a hat to prove it)....
Sweetness and Light also brings up the point about the after-action report on the kid that Kerry shot. (The slimes “proved” that Kerry was telling the truth because the kid was laying on his back, not his stomach, and thus it would have been impossible for Kerry to have shot him while running away. Physics denies it!)
The after action report:
AND MOVED IMMEDIATELY TO ASSIST. PCF 94 BEACHED IN CENTER OF AMBUSH IN FRONT OF SMALL PATH WHEN VC SPRUNG UP FROM BUNKER 10 FEET FROM UNIT. OINC OF PCF 94 CHASED VC INLAND BEHIND HOOTCH AND SHOT HIM WHILE HE FLED CAPTURING ONE B-40 ROCKET LAUNCHER WITH ROUND IN CHAMBER. OINC’S OF PCF’S 43 AND 23 LED ASSAULT PARTIES THROUGH BRUSH AND JOINED WITH PCF 94 GROUP. PARTIES FR[O]M 3 ACF’S [PRO]CEEDED TO SWEEP AREA AND [ILLEGIBLE]
