Kerry Pressing Swiftboat Case, Long After Loss ["They lied and lied and lied about everything,"]

Kerry Pressing Swiftboat Case, Long After Loss By KATE ZERNIKE

John Kerry starts by showing the entry in a log he kept from 1969: "Feb 12: 0800 run to Cambodia."

He moves on to the photographs: his boat leaving the base at Ha Tien, Vietnam; the harbor; the mountains fading frame by frame as the boat heads north; the special operations team the boat was ferrying across the border; the men reading maps and setting off flares.

"They gave me a hat," Mr. Kerry says. "I have the hat to this day," he declares, rising to pull it from his briefcase. "I have the hat."

Three decades after the Vietnam War and nearly two years after Mr. Kerry's failed presidential bid, most Americans have probably forgotten why it ever mattered whether he went to Cambodia or that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth accused him of making it all up, saying he was dishonest and lacked patriotism.

But among those who were on the frontlines of the 2004 campaign, the battle over Mr. Kerry's wartime service continues, out of the limelight but in some ways more heatedly — because unlike then, Mr. Kerry has fully engaged in the fight. Only those on Mr. Kerry's side, however, have gathered new evidence to prove their case.

The Swift boat group continues to spend money on Washington consultants, according to public records, and last fall it gave $100,000 to a group that promptly sued Mr. Kerry, a Democratic senator from Massachusetts, for allegedly interfering with the release of a film that was critical of him.

Some of the principals behind the Swift boat group continue to press their claims.

Rally in Washington Is Said to Invigorate the Anti-War Movement
Kate Zernike | New York Times | October 30, 2002
"Emboldened by a weekend antiwar protest in Washington that organizers called the biggest since the days of the Vietnam War, groups opposed to military action in Iraq said they were preparing a wave of new demonstrations across the country in the next few weeks." [more]

NY Times Falsely Accuses Government of Lawlessness
07/25 02:07 PM - The Markup
New York Times reporter Kate Zernike messed up when she wrote this story, entitled, “Government Defies an Order to Release Iraq Abuse Photos.” The story, which ran in the Times on Saturday, is incorrect. The government has not defied any order to release Iraq abuse photos. There never was an order to release Iraq abuse photos.

Kerry was and remains a narcissist. By definition this means that he will continually distort facts and reality in a way that endorses his own image of himself regardless of how others may view the same facts and reality. He is one of the most pretentious, imperious, wannabe's that ever ran for public office. He and Teddy Kennedy have so much in common. The Swifties have Kerry pegged exactly right - you can't fool people in the same foxhole. They know him for exactly what he is and is not. No hero he, a traitor he be!

Are they actually trying to imply Kerry took photos of his fantasy "double-top-secret" Cambodian CIA mission?!?! Bwahahahaha!! AS IF!!!

a copied post from some of my Kerry/Viet Nam notes:
"Why the Cambodia Lie Matters:
It's hard to overstate just how big an issue this was in 1973. Cambodia was officially a neutral country, and it was the contention of the anti-war movement that any movement across Cambodia's borders constituted a violation of international law.
If Kerry is to be believed, then this leader of the anti-war movement remained silent in 1973 when he could have spoken out about how he was ordered to violate Cambodian neutrality as early as 1968. Which is why Kerry is not to be believed on this matter.
He used the "life-altering searing experience" anecdote on the floor of the Senate to flog an administration, support a communist regime, and politically influence and manipulate national policy."

Mr. Kerry has signed forms authorizing the Navy to release his record — something he resisted during the campaign — and hired a researcher to comb the naval archives in Washington for records that could pinpoint his whereabouts during dates of the incidents in dispute.

Kerry has sort of signed his SF-180

I think you've nailed it. He's built an alternate reality based on all of the lies and exaggerations he's committed over the years, and he can no longer tell truth from fiction.

Oh yes, Feb. 12th, 1969 - Christmas. I remember it well. I was 8 years old and got a plastic bowling set.

On Memorial Day Weekend no less. Kerry is the biggest arrogant charlatan deceiver in the history of Presidential contenders.

What next? Announcing he is really Irish on St. Patricks's Day? (Kerry pretended to be Irish for 35 years of politics in heavily Irish Massachusetts. He is Czech with an assumed family name and not a drop of Irish in him!)

Um... right. Special ops personnel doing a secret insertion into Cambodia and they're setting off flares... Uh huh.

This stinking hippie is getting flakier by the day.

Hey! Quit being so harsh. He has in country 4 months and 12 days and got out because of three self reported scratches. Whatsomatterwith you? Can't you see a hero when you see one.

If that wasn't good enough, he accused those remaining, those yet to serve and those who had served with a pack of claims as to war atrocities--none of his claims was ever confirmed. Again, what do you expect from a self proclaimed war hero.

Actually, he didn't sign a Form 180 releasing ALL his records to all interested parties, only a limited subset to a few pro-Kerry writers.

Oh he asked for all the records, but if he sent the form to the Navy, there won't be any. separated folks' records go to a branch of the National Archives in St.Louis, and are not maintained by the individual services. I found this out when I wanted a copy the orders transferring me to the retired reserve.

He also only authorized the records to be sent to 3 reporters, from AP, Boston Globe and LA Times, not to all interested parties. You can see images of the forms here

I think that the release he signed was limited to what he's already released and nothing more.

Kerry needs and therefore fabricates a preemptive strike before the next election.
He wants to run for President with a clean slate this, his next and last time.
