We need to start the recall process on the Senators that are not up for re-election that voted for this bill. Does anybody know the steps needed to get a recall vote listed on a state ballot for November? I would especially like to target Specter (PA) (for sponsoring the bill.
This is THE VOTE from 5/25 passed around 5:30 yesterday on immigration reform:

Good luck with that.
This vote is even more interesting, apparently a provision to prevent illegals from voting was shot down:

I don't know, maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it looks like voter fraud just received a green light.
LOL!!!
Especially our idiot legislature that cannot even get a budget bill passed in regular session but spend hours debating social issues that should be the responsibility of the local community knowing full well they won't pass. Cost $10,000 of our tax dollars a day for these people to pontificate and ignore the budget.
They are one of the highest paid legislatures in the Country which makes it even worse and they also meet every year for this small state. We also have one of the highest ratios of Government employees per capita in the Nation.
Our two Senators do a great job because the grassroots are behind them. We need to rethink some of our Reps who are spending more time grandstanding them working.
Can you guess I am not the least bit happy with the OK House? Our Republican State Senators do a better job and hope they continue if they gain power and don't act the House has this year with a missing Majority Leader who is running for Lt Governor and the lack of focus on what is important to the State.
"Both my Texas Senators voted against the bill"
The list above shows Kay voted for the bill.
I hope you're right and there's an error on the list.
The Recall John McCain Committee
This committee was formed on June 5, 2001 for the purpose of recalling Arizona's United States Senator, John McCain. The grounds for recall as they appear on the petition are as follows: John McCain has become increasingly obsessed with advancing his own personal agenda contrary to President Bush, party leaders and rank and file Republicans. In his insatiable desire for massive national media attention, he has all but forgotten the people of Arizona who elected him. The last straw was his vote against final passage of President Bushs tax cut plan, the very centerpiece of George W. Bushs successful presidential campaign.
John McCains legislative judgment is no longer acceptable. He is continually sponsoring or cosponsoring legislation that will weaken the civil liberties guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Besides Senator McCain's recent no vote on the tax rebate check that you will receive in the mail, here are some other examples of poor legislative judgment:
McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform will directly violate First Amendment Rights to free speech by prohibiting issue/candidate advertising by non-candidate groups (like this one), 30 or 60 days before an election. This is precisely when the majority of voters are seeking information about the candidates! Imagine the AARP being unable to inform its members on the principles promoted by each candidate before the election.
McCain-Lieberman Gun Show bill (S. 890) will infringe upon Second Amendment Rights to keep and bear arms by restricting the ability of law abiding citizens to freely assemble at gun shows and similar events. Gun shows would be outlawed without prior federal approval. It will require centralized registration of all vendors and attendees with the threat of imprisonment for the non-registered. "May I see your papers please?" We don't need more gun control we need more criminal control.
McCain-Kennedy Patient's Bill of Rights will result in further increases in the amount we pay and our employers pay for already too expensive healthcare insurance. The plan here is to promote the Nationalization of healthcare insurance, a step closer to Hillary Care. What small business owner that provides a healthcare benefit to employees can afford to be covered for $5,000,000.00 of liability when the trial lawyers get involved? With legislation like this, there would soon be no freedom of choice for healthcare.
John McCain does not represent the values that he claims - he is not anything like a Reagan or Goldwater Republican. None of the bills mentioned above do anything to reduce the size of the federal government, in fact, they would do just the opposite.
We can add granting amnesty and citizenship to 12-20 million illegals and giving social security benefits to felons that have stolen American citizens social security numbers, etc., to the valid reasons for a recall.

There was some mix-up early on. KBH voted NO. For certain.
I think the post was in error. both TX Senators voted NEY. I wish admin mods would remove that voting list because it is wrong.
I don't think that strategy is going to work, if "escape from personal income taxes" is what you're seeking.
I believe there are currently only nine states left withOUT personal income taxes. We went through that battle here in Connecticut in 1991 - and lost (with the RINO ex-Republican governor Weicker leading the charge to taxation!).
Prediction: one of the "costs of amnesty" that states currently without income taxes will discover is that they will ALL confront bankruptcy UNLESS they increase state revenues to pay for the hordes of illegals. And, facing such bankruptcy, they will ALL choose an income tax to try to "close the revenue gap". Wait and see.
Second prediction: It isn't going to be enough. Watch for ALL states - all fifty of 'em - to be forced into RAISING current tax rates to try to compensate for the losses in revenue this will engender....
- John
Ya think? They do it every day, they probably wouldn't recognize the Constitution if they fell over it. I am so disgusted. See my tagline -- maybe it's getting later than we think?
Carolyn
This Amnesty crap is going to cost a lot. I wonder what would happen if enough of us refused to PAY.
This is a waste of time. You can't recall a politician because they don't vote the way you want every time. You'll just look like a right-wing version of the looney left.
Better to work to develop conservative candidates that can win statewide offices in the Red states, and to defeat the most liberal candidates in the Blue states replacing them with more moderate people.
2005 ACU rankings for some "RINOs"
CHAFEE 12
SNOWE 32
COLLINS 32
SMITH (OR) 52
DEWINE 56
SPECTER 63
COLEMAN 64
VOINOVICH 68
MCCAIN 80
GRAHAM 96
Clearly, as much as they are disliked-- McCain and Graham are not RINOs as most people use the term.
If you live in NY State as I do, there is no need to see a list. I know how they voted. Clinton-Schumer are the Senators from Hell!!
"YEAS UP FOR ELECTION IN 2006: Burns (R-MT), Yea"
Isn't somebody already running in the primary against him?
Glad to hear it I stand corrected.
Saw you were also looking for a list of how our Senators voted on the Immigration Reform Bill. Here is the link to see who stabbed us in the back.
