Liberals think they know better than every one else what's best for us - and Washington knows better than the states do about maximum freeway speed limits.

Hillary is advocating a national depression. The loss of productivity resulting from the slow down will increase the price of everything for sale everywhere.

She is a tool of the unions that want the increase in wages that will result from the across the boards slow down.

Hillary the marxist student is the adult enemy of the economy.

Ping

I give, you win. I will vote for McCain if he is the Republican nominee.

I simply can't drive 55.

That's just dumber that dirt.

Very inefficient, time wise. My time is worth much more to me than the cost savings derived from driving @ 55. And anyway, whether or not I drive 55, with my Jetta TDI, there is no appreciable difference in mileage. I get approx 45 MPG on trips driving @ 80 MPH.

- In a surprise move yesterday, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton called for "most of the country" to return to a speed limit of 55 mph in an effort to slash fuel consumption...

There's one speed limit I'll never follow again.

And wherever it can be required, and the people will accept it, we ought to do it," Clinton said at the National Press Club.

What in blue blazes does that mean?

What's next? The Beast throwing a sweater over "Old Crusty" and giving us a fireside chat, admonishing us to turn down our thermostats?

If she's for it, I'm a'gin it! Whatever it is.

In 65 zones we drive 85. The bitch just wants to piss us off more 'cause she's gotten away with so much already. Just like the Arabs, Hitlery knows she can get away wih it.

I recall truckers complaining that their rigs got worse mileage at 55 than 65 because of the gearing.

I know my Honda Pilot shifts into 'high' at 62 mph.
At 55 I would be stuck in a lower gear and likely burn more fuel.

Yes, and the authority to impose a national speed limit is granted by Article XXXVIII of the Liberal Addendum to the Constitution of The United States of Whackistan.
